Today's Des Moines Register. I am not surprised given the delays but I thought it was a done deal and simply on a delay.

Disappointed is about all I can say right now. Seems like Krause has been talking optimism/done deal to line up other deals in hopes of acquiring the funds needed and acting as if he had them all along. Renovating Drake Stadium is not what want/need. Let's hope things work out.

Hey Rochester, how about a trade? You send us your extra cash so we can build Menace Stadium and we'll send you our politicians so you can build PaeTec Park.

Stan Collins hit this on the head.

This is the stage we're at: not being considered by politicians if we want a SSS; but if the team is seen as making money, the prospective landlords come out of the woodwork.

Don't see this as a knock against soccer. See this as current stadium owners simply trying to restrict supply.

I don't understand. Drake University has discussed a $20m renovation of it's stadium. Couldn't a stadium be SSS if one spends $20m (or more if the Menace add their $)? Is there a secret definition of SSS?

A SSS would not have a track and would have ideal soccer pitch dimensions.

It would also have the soccer club controling all revenues, and not being a tenant.

I agree that the most important part of a SSS is the club controlling the revenues from the stadium.

But more importantly, why should we listen to Eric B posts if he hasn't released anything good since '92. And don't talk to me about the Paid in Full Platinum Edition.
