I have been trying to see if he had an American connection and it turns out he does. Born in Germany to an American father and Irish mother. Is a 93' and plays for Aston Villa reserves.

Tonight, 18-year-old Williams will start at left-back against Greece for the fourth competitive game in a row under Paul Doolin, despite being young enough to be eligible for the qualifiers next season.

Derrick was subbed in against QPR yesterday at 65' mark to make his first appearance for the the first team at LB with Lichaj switching over to RB when he came on. Sounds like he held up well. Is he 100% committed to Ireland?

Why would he play for the US if he looks at Lichai and sees he can't even get a call-up despite playing regularly in the EPL?

He would have to file a one time switch, right?

City fans may be surprised that the manager is seeking to further bolster the centre of defence, given that he already has Derrick Williams, Karleigh Osborne, Aden Flint and Adam El-Abd on the books.
But El-Abd's future remains unclear after he and Cotterill fell out at half-time during a game against Preston in early April. The former Brighton defender did not feature in a City squad thereafter, casting doubt over his future at Ashton Gate.
Flint missed the final quarter of the season after undergoing surgery on a dislocated knee and is by no means guaranteed to be fit by the start of the new campaign.

Williams went the distance in Bristol City's 2-1 road against Sheffield United to open the League One campaign this weekend. He was listed as playing at center back.

He came on in the 62nd minute in a 2-1 home loss to Oxford United in the League Cup today.

During the 2013/2014 season he played in 43 games (40 starts) in League One play. His stat line shows 1 goal, 1 assist, and 8 yellow cards.

He also made 2 starts in the FA Cup and 2 starts and 1 substitute appearance in the League Cup.

Those uniforms are dubious, but I guess they're lucky now.
