Okay I tried doing this at the begining of last cycle and it didn't take off, I heard someone mention that it would be a good idea to try it again. My Idea would be to have a group of at most 25 of us rank our top 10 forwards after every week, (kind of sort of like the college top ten poll). What do you guys think? As to the people that would do the actually polling, we would have to work out a system to get fair representation for all clubs (trying to prevent people choosing all the players from their club). Just throwing it out there what say you?
Deal then, the new rankings will come out on a monthly basis... so far by my count we have 9 people participating... I guess the first step would be to have a preseason rank... there are no rules I would just hope people abstain from picking players from their favorite team for no other reason than because they are on their favorite team. Also age should be consideration as we would want to be as realistic as possible for 2014.
I think you should clarify the positions we should rank. Top 10 Defenders, Midfielders, and Forwards. and maybe a top 3 keepers? I also think the euros+torrado should be unavailable for ranking, because, then only half of our input will matter.
I don't know how detailed we want to get I would suggest something like Forwards, Right Sided Mids, Central Mids, Left Sided Mids, Left Backs, Center Backs, Right Backs, and of course GK (Maybe rank top 5). As far as players are concerned... I see no problem with Euros being in the ranking we automatically rank them highly due to their Euro status, but if they are not preforming or if there is someone tearing it up in the Mexican League then they could plausibly be surpassed.
i want in, top 5 sounds good. any and all currently eligble players only. i.e. not players who have not been naturalized just yet. but already naturlized okay. also any league in the world.
I don't agree with this, unless they said they are retiring from International play, it doesn't matter how old a player is, if he can still help us during that specific time period, so be it. Many players help and play during qualifiers which help get us to the WC, just because they may be too old for the 2014 WC, doesn't mean that we can't call them up or rank them now.

I like this format better, no need to get specific with sweepers, CDM, CM, LWB or LB. Just GK (5) DEF (10) MID (10) FWR (8 or 10).
