THINKING OF THE CONFRONTATION AGAINST MARSEILLE http://www.deportivo-la-coruna.com/news.php OM will be much tougher at the Velodrome. They are also coming off a very big match, where they hosted Lyon. OM, in my opinion, doesn't have the attacking prowess of Depor, but they are a scrappy lot. They gave Lyon fits the entire first half. Should be an interesting match.
Damn, two red cards after a hard tackle on a Depor player lead to fights between the teams. Duscher gets the red for Depor, Marseille lose a player as well.
Not much time being focused on the Depor game on the cast, can only be a good thing because that means there's hardly any danger created, for them to lose this game
Marseille get somewhat back in the game 2-1 They still need to score 2, although judging by past games of Depor in France, that isn't too unlikely
25th minute of the 2nd half Capdevilla gets his 2nd yellow card for talking, and is sent off. Depor remain with 9 players Things not looking good
4-1 for Marseille Still time left, but I think it's safe to say it's over for Depor with 9 players left.
What did you guys expect with Caparros? His teams always choke when it comes to the big matches, they lost at home 0-2 to Malaga the last game of the season which enabled Betis to pickup that fourth CL slot, which they had wrapped up entering week 35 the Derby Sevillano with a 5 point lead over Betis. Good luck Depor it's gonna be a long season for you guys! We were so sad to see him go! viva er beti manque lopera! El Pichi
What an absolute shocker! I mean no one on Earth could have predicted that beating. Official Match Report http://www.deportivo-la-coruna.com/news.php In the end, you can't polish a turd.
Oh God, I can't believe this. What the hell went wrong? How the hell did we end up with nine men on the pitch? Why the hell did we lose?
We ended up with 8, since a defender limped off injured after we made our last change. So apparently, between one defender being red carded and another leaving injured we had what, 2 defenders left on the pitch? I didn't see the game (luckily), but it seems the result was largely influenced by all the cards.
We are good at pulling off 1 of these games in Europe every year it seems. Too bad it happened before we made it to Europe this year
This match was @ The Velodrome....why am I not surprised! The last OM vs. Lyon match that was there had the worst refereeing I have ever experienced in my life. I was losing my hair! Note: I'm already BALD!
hi all im new here.. being a depor fan since 2001 its very sad to not see them play in europe this season... anyway how was the game actually? was the refereeing that bad?
i saw the match, and all i can say is that for once the oft-used stop-play tactics backfired. especially at 1-1, when marseilles needed 3 scores, the idea was to kill the game. but at 8 against 10 depor were orphans in the storm, the only chance they had was keep the ball out of play (they were a bit helped in this by OM, who remained a bit sloppy). caparros' statements about this are ludicrous. the match was a butchery, but depor was more responsible than OM. http://www.as.com/articulo.html?d_date=20050825&xref=20050825dasdaiftb_40&type=Tes&anchor=dasftb
