Look, I know that some of you think Bergy walks on water, and apparently he does, too. But the thing about this is that players are frequently the worst judges when it comes to what's best for the team. The fact that Dennis won't fly and gets crocked from time-to-time makes it absolutely mandatory that Wenger rotate the squad, if only to get certain players used to playing with one another in the eventuality that Dennis will miss some games.

What do you the rest of you think?

    1) You'd expect nothing less from such a competitive player, or

    2) He's a selfish loudmouth who just won't shut it.

    Or somewhere in between?

I think he's being a bit selfish here. I love the guy, but the manager just won the double with those tactics. Dennis isn't 23 anymore, and keeping him fit for the whole season is key. Plus, he takes himself out of europe games with his flying restrictions. Does he suppose that doesn't bother the manager? If playing time were his upmost concern, maybe he could hop a flight every now and again and- oh by the way- help his team out.

I'd really like to know in what context those remarks were made. I agree, DB10 does come off like a lout, to say the least, but it may have been what Dennis considered a "off the record" remark that the reporter went ahead and printed.

Not somewhere in between, but rather outside. I choose:

    3) Some drivel that Sky Sports says that the News of the World say that some reporter of theirs says that Dennis Bergkamp says.

It seems the DB10 has his head in the clouds and thats not because hes on an airplane. His performances last year were, for the most part, due to squad rotation. He is basically thriving in the tactics that hes complaining about. Im all for him playing more and have said that once or twice but DB is old in footballing standards. He needs to except this and give 100% when given the opportunity.

I think GREX is correct though and the context of these words are somewhere outside the discussion.
