    From the FCD Blog:

"Steve Morrow told fans last week that the team had sent Denilson a proposal – based on its assessment of his time here and his value in the League – to offer him the opportunity to come back to FC Dallas. While the team has not received a formal written response from the player on the proposed offer, at this point FC Dallas is moving forward preparing for the 2008 season without Denilson."

My friend got a photo with him at some shopping mall in São Paulo a few weeks ago while on holidays.

Does he have a contract? why ask him to come back? if he does he has to like it or not, if he doesn't, why ask him to come back when he was the worst player MLS has signed in many years.
    someone explain.

He had one year deal with club FCD option to renew. Pretty good money spent on this dude though.

they signed him to a DP contract. they wouldn't mind him coming back for less than DP money.

It was a prorated contract so about $200,000 or so was spent and was room on the cap that would've gone unused through the end of that season if Denilson hadn't been signed so in reality while the player move didn't work out the deal was smart in that it counts nothing against us this season and the only money that FCD was out came from the coffers of HSG.

He's too much of a "superstar" to come back next season for a lower salary.

    He wont come back.

Sure, he can make a "cheeky" back heel flick, but what is the point if it doesn't help the team. Looking pretty, but being ineffective is what got him benched. Deservedly so.

If he can get his GreenCard, I will bet you he will be there for less then 100k.

    I fixed your post.

I'm picturing Denilson opening up the proposal and finding a Starbucks gift card or a one-year subscription to Money Magazine.

if he comes at a decent price (i think he will) there's plenty of room in mls for denilson.
    let's not get picky.

According to this logic, a 7 year old out in my driveway standing around doing stepovers, flicks, and other moves that go nowhere would be an "exciting player".

    Obviously.

The man was useless because he played like he was trying to be in one of those Urban Freestyle shows that they show on GolTV. Lots of neat ball tricks, but nothing that would've helped the team win, like making the simple pass to the open teammate.
