A Fulham win in Switzerland and they're into the Europa League knockout stages. Demps starts on the bench.

FC BASEL (4-4-2): Colomba; Cagdas Atin, Abraham, Safri, Inkoom; Huggel, Stocker, Cabral, Carlitos; Streller, Frei. Subs: Wessels, Gelabert, Schurpf, Almeraes, Shaqiri, Ferati, Sahin.

FULHAM (4-4-1-1): Schwarzer; Pantsil, Kelly, Hughes, Smalling; Etuhu, Murphy, Riise, Greening; Gera; Zamora. Subs: Stockdale, Hangeland, Briggs, Saunders, Duff, Dempsey, Uwezu.

eh wtf? No Dempsey.... this is a really big game for Fulham isn't it... win or lose / make or bread? I guess the Euro cup really is down in the priority order there...

Dempsey is not a great baker, so it's understandable that he's on the bench.

Snowing - I have not seen Basel play, so I can't say who this really benefits.

Early Riise cross into the 6 evades greening - a real early chance for Fulham.

yeah but they worked so hard last season to 'get into Europe' - for the first time in their history might I add! Now they're here and they're just going to throw it away just to try and qualify again next year?

I just don't understand this mentality towards the Euro cup

Second time Pantsil just manages to not keep a ball in play and a quick Basel thowin leads to a break. This time Frei is played in but Schwartzer claims the ball after Frei cut back across Smalling.

Duff and Hangeland on the bench too. Arguably Fulham's best 3 field players at the moment.

Zamora goal called back for offsides - very tight call. Zamora might have been better to let the ball run to Gera who was definitely onside. '17

Fulham have looked good attacking, but have looked shaky defending with Pantsil's touch looking very suspect so far.
