Is anyone else afraid for Dempsey? It seems the last 4 or 5 matches he has been the target of some very serious challenges. Maybe these were reserved for the Zanimal and with Clint starting they basically take him out and Fulham offense is ground to a halt. I honestly dont care if Fulham win or lose, the road has been amazing enough of a story, I just want a healthy Dempsey for the WC because he is the ONLY USMNT player who scores at the highest level consistently. If he is out, then Donovan gets triple teamed and we are done.
Yeah, people forget that teams like BM got shackled by Moscow a couple years ago. Granted, they might not be as motivated to keep playing as they are in the CL, but AS Roma for example gave it everything and they went toe-to-toe with Inter this year. They got bounced. Is this Inter v. BM, no, but it is not as far off as some might think.
This is arguably Dempsey's biggest moment in his club career and he's worked very hard and gone through a lot to be here. I'm not afraid for Dempsey. I'm excited for him as every fan of U.S. Soccer, hell, soccer in general should be. My excitement for this match outweighs my fear of what potentially could happen. The guy could get hit by a bus tomorrow. You can't predict or stop injuries. Let loose the Duece!!!
I'm curious what the ratings would have been in the U.S. The USMNT/MLS fanbase is pretty small and given the gametime would likely not be viewed in large numbers by same. However, I have no idea what the Fulham/Athletico fanbase is like here in the States. Also, what the hell else is on at 3pm on a Wednesday?
It's better than some repeat on FSC of Bari and Sampdoria or something. I know, they don't have the Europa rights....
Of course he will. Hodgs was just pulling some wool on the spanish. Dont know how effective he will be though. Last time out he had one chance early on a good turn, then was pretty useless. The real key to this match is if Duff decides to show up and if Murphy can avoid the back pass to the other team mistakes. Pantsil has also not looked great at times as he comes back to full match fitness.
I'll be rocking matchtracker for this one, but looking forward to seeing Fulham take home a trophy. If Dempsey could add a goal on the 12th of the month to get in the habit, I'd be even happier
Ridiculous. Should be plenty of streams though, it's on normal tele here, so I can imagine them being rife.
Starting line-ups? I know it's usually announced 30 minutes before a game... I'm just so excited! Can't believe Fulham(erica) was gonna be this good of a team. I think they're now known as Fulhamwegians with all ther Norwegians on the team.
For those fans in the UK it's live on Channel 5 and live on their website here starting at 18:30 (k.o 19:45): http://www3.five.tv/footballonfive I strongly suspect though that the stream will be blocked for oversea viewers. I always support English teams in Europe and Fulham have provided plenty of entertainment in the Europa League so I'll be cheering them on.
Goff stated today that DirecTV bought exclusive rights to the final - it will be reshown on GolTv tomorrow at 8 pm. I better be able to watch at work or I will be in serious internet avoidance mode until late tomorrow.
pffffffffffffffffftt "If we go out and half-ass it 'cause we're scared, then we'll always wonder if we were really good enough. But if we go out there and give it all we've got... that's heroic. You guys wanna be heroes?"
