Re: 7 reasons why Athletico will win Europa League Mate, I was at the Cottage a few weeks ago when a certain Italian football giant- JUVE- got absolutely f*cking rocked in the second half. I'd get over it quickly, because Fulham are in the final now, and no one can take that away from them. The pedigree of these two clubs means nothing when the game starts. Meanwhile, I've conspired to be out of the country for this one, and will wondering around Kathmandu at midnight looking for a bar to watch this one, as dial up doesn't get it done on streams... COME ON YOU WHITES. Zamora, Duff, and Dempsey will shake off their various woes- but I predict a tense, tight, encounter... Gera and Dempsey combine for the late, late winner on a header.
I can't freaking believe none of the ESPN channels are gonna have this, I'm seriously pi$$ed. Good luck to Fulham though, this would be huge for them going into next season.
Re: 7 reasons why Athletico will win Europa League to be fair they had a man advantage for 60minutes or so
UEFA usually posts the lineup around 60-75 minutes before kickoff on their matchtracker. At least they've done so every other game before.
If Zamora is not in the lineup Dempsey is 100% starting. If Zamora is in the lineup Dempsey has IMO only a 30% chance of starting. Hodgson has stuck with the starting lineup that has worked decently since Dempsey's injury in January, where he has been the supersub off the bench. Dempsey still has a decent chance of starting, if Davies is moved to rightback like Hodgson has done before.
1. Dempsey likely doesn't start. That sucks. 2. Got to love how everyone gets excited about the NIT Tournament of soccer. Hope one day Europe fixes itself with salary cap so that clubs like Fulham can have true shot at competing in the league. Hate the European cast system in soccer, but can see why the big clubs love the status quo! 3. This is Hodgson last glory moment. (my prediction): Dempsey is gone within a year, and Fulham slides down and Roy goes from king to prince to fond memories within 2 years. The side is classic overachiever, but the underbelly is soft. Can't win on road (except today!?!) and some key performers are one-offs this season (Zamora, Gera) or in twilight of performance (Duff, Murphy and possibly Schwarzer) and the bench, pipeline for talent is actually a lot weaker than seen to date. Stoke was an omen. 4. Dempsey with header goal...its been a long while, and he's missed with a lot of headers this year.
Shakhtar Donetsk, Juventus, Wolfsburg, Hamburg, Atletico Madrid - sounds like a joke tournament to me also.
I'm taking the afternoon off of work and hitting the bar for this one. Come on Demps! And COME ON YOU WHITES!!!
So what. Fulham has never had a terribly strong bench or produced a ton of players from their youth system who made the first team. Their future success will depend (as it always has) on making smart purchases in the transfer market (where do you think all the players on this team came from?).
Go watch ManU or Chelsea or Barca and leave us alone. Not everyone wants to watch $50 million players constantly.
Exactly; according to Buzz Killington the only good team is the one that win's the Champions League, everybody else basically sucks.
Here's the bucketful of nothing that Fulham has won in its 131 year history: English Championship: 1948-49, 2000-01 League 1: 1931-32, 1998-99 Intertoto Cup: 2002 Conclusion: It's time for Fulham to win a championship today.
