Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Fine with me as well mate, there was football in England before you lot showed an interest and it will still be there long after Deuce "thumb sucker" Dempsey has pissed off.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] you're a funny little guy aren't ya?
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Yep. I make a serious point, Fulham Chelsea is a big game, they'll be fighting in the street, it's not appropriate for the players to celebrate by sucking their thumb.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] If you say so. I don't really care how he celebrates, he just scored a goal he can suck on his whole fist if he wants.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Is that like biting ones thumb at an opponent? That's still an insult over there?
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] I thought both goals were typical "goal-scorers" goals. Right place, right time, and just did enough to get it done. The key for a guy who scores goals like that is to score enough so that the manager doesn't just chalk it up to luck. Here's hoping Demps keeps up his form!!
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Ladies and gentlemen, the starting line-ups for our match: Fulham: Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hangeland, Hughes, Konchesky, Davies, Etuhu, Murphy, Dempsey, Johnson, Zamora Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Alex, A. Cole, Deco, Mikel, Lampard, J. Cole, Drogba, Malouda
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Right, because the inappropriate behavior mentioned here clearly involves the goal celebration.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] What's embarrassing is your spelling ... didn't your lot invent the language? Seriously, if a simple goal celebration riles up your xenophobia, I suggest you get thicker skin.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Loony talk. I say optimistically, he nets 7-8 for the season ... which should be enough to lead the squad in scoring two years in a row.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] I have two brief things to say: 1) To the wanker who said that Dempsey should've swung around and finished with his left foot instead of flicking the ball into the goal with his right, what the hell? Normally I respect your posts, but this one really gets me. Clearly you either have an agenda, are a troll, or don't watch much soccer. If you look at the highlights, it should be plainly obvious that Dempsey had about a split second to get the ball off him before Petr Cech saves it. If Clint tries to settle and then swing his body around and finish with his left foot, the ball gets saved by Cech. That is a no-brainer. 2) Upon further review, Clint's celebration most certainly looks like he's cracking open a bottle of beer on his foot and then drinking it. http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/1909664/ That celebration does not at all look like he's sucking his thumb. Clint's got an edge to him...just like Mathis did, only in a less destructive manner. I like it. The dude abides.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Would rep if I could....but I must spread. So let me get this straight... Fighting in streets - OK Obscure, odd, undefinable goal celebration that we can't even agree on what it means - NOT OK Someone wants a reason to start fights.... No surprise his nickname is "white riot" I'm thinking of a word that rhymes with Cool Again.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] I would be rather see players disciplined for the thuggery that occurs on the pitch in the EPL rather than a goal celebration. I've never liked the new rules disallowing the players from taking their shirts off. It's just petty.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Will their children be at their feet? Will the morals that they worship be gone?
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Well then what can a poor boy do, except to sing for a rock 'n' roll band? 'Cause in sleepy London town there's just no place for a street fighting man. No!
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] You wouldn't last more then five minutes in South Seattle you fake internet hooligan. Stop trying to be a tough guy and stick to football or go back to stormfront.org.
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] If Dempsey had wanted to imitate a baby sucking its thumb, why wouldn't he have, I don't know, sucked his thumb? The "baby bottle" argument is more convincing, but then what is the foot thing? And shouldn't he squeeze some milk on his wrist to check the temperature?
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] I have NO idea what the celebration means, but it's pretty damn clear it's not thumb sucking. Thumb sucking, you know, kinda, sorta, involves SUCKING THE THUMB. Thumb sucking. Not Thumb Sucking
Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] Dempsey has always had, umm, interesting goal celebrations. This video of his goals show his "stop, drop and roll" against the Fire, his "at bat" at DCU when there was a baseball diamond on the field and others that I couldn't begin to characterize. Re: Clint Dempsey: I have showed I can play at this level [Chelsea R] How can you not love this kid? and I forgot how violently he threw himself at crosses for some of those MLS goals. repped.
