Clint should have mentioned that he's making a lot more money in Europe, so no prob paying $30 a night for dinner. In Boston, when he was making 30-70k, got to be a bit more frugal. Boston isn't as big as London, but has it all culinary wise

Seriously, where the hell did Dempsey come up with that statement from? The bulk of my life has been spent in NY and DC, and there is no lack of ethnic European food in either place. I have a hard time thinking that there is such a problem in Boston either. I guess he's just trying to fit in. Maybe that's why Convey isn't starting .......... didn't he say something to the contrary, about the food not being nearly as good there? :)

(for those who don't know, the statement about why Convey isn't starting is a joke)

I think he meant when he was growing up in Texas. Plus he is older now and probably more adventurous when trying new things

I think the point is that the food he's used to eating in the USA is not as readily available in England. This has forced him to branch out, which he credits as a good thing.

c'mon guys. Dempsey is a poor kid from the Southwest. his idea of exotic is Mexican food.

Earlier poster was right, he wasn't being paid enough to sample Boston's best restaurants.

Still thanks to the inlfuence of its former colonies, British food is basically Indian and Caribbean now. Personally I could could trade burgers & pizza for jerk chicken & kebabs, no problem

Actually his idea of exotic is probably sushi. In the southwest mexican food is everyday food

People say southwest like he lived in Phoniex or Odesa, Texas. In reality he was barely an hour from Louisiana. Seafood should not be a new experience.

Big fan of Deuce, but the guy should stop with the rambling about England food etc. Not one of his better interviews

Opium and red bull would be a healthier diet.

England is perhaps the last place in Europe that I think of when it comes to good food...

    OK, enough about the food.

How about his attitude about the team and the season? I can definitely see him becoming a fan favorite like McBride. Keep scoring goals and working hard and they'll love him.

I guarantee you can find better Portuguese food in Boston than you can in London. And seafood in general's gonna be a wash at worst.

oh KICK ASS - A FOOD THREAD!!!

he he. Actually you'd be hard pressed to find a restuarant in Fulham that you could eat at for only $30 - try £25 if you want a drink.

What Clint has to do is to lead Fulham to the UEFA-land.

That way he can sample stuff from lutefisk to kebobs to pelmenis all across the continent.

Ah, but living in London a plethora of very high quality restaurants exist for Dempsey. It's not as if Dempsey mentioned restaurants serving traditional "English" food, or he's living in Reading where an excellent meal is more challenging for Convey or anyone else to find.
