I'll hold my breath waiting for Dubya to sign significant campaign finance reform laws, in order to combat such abuses from the Democrats.

Why make even more rules when some people (ok, they all cheat) can't even follow the current rules?

Uhh, hello, if the Democrats are violating laws THAT ALREADY EXIST how would passing yet another law get them to stop?

The problem with campaign finance laws is that the abuse is almost always found after the election. Then, the parties involved just pay the fine and move on. The risk of a fine is just a small cost of doing business.

Well, that would be one change to the law, then, wouldn't it?

Guarantee you, though, this is piddling compared to what Gray Davis is doing by himself, in one state.

And if the GOP isn't breaking rules, I'd be stunned purple. Politics has become like Southwest Conference football - if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying, in the words of the philosopher Jerry Glanville.
