It's true. My soon to be 1st time voter son is a BernieBro and he points out Obama's drone usage. I said we have one enemy to defeat and he thinks mainstream Dems/Republicans are the same. Bernie should just go full Jim Jones and fill his bank account.
If he does, tell the kid to do whatever Bernie says, but sneak out the back door when the Koolaid is served.
Tulsi dropped out and endorsed Biden https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/19/tul...-presidential-primary.html?&qsearchterm=tulsi
She was not on a "blackout," she was being ignored as she was polling at less than 1% and really did not have anything useful to add to the conversation.
She should be. Her impeachment vote was gutless, her currying favor and support from Republicans and alt-righters was disgusting and her rhetoric against the party was out of bounds. Not to mention her neanderthal views on LGBTQ issues. I like independent thinkers (Sanders, Yang etc) but she was unacceptable to me.
All he has to do is hide in his basement. I like how some aide tried to cut him off. “Listen, you’ve got to come see us when you come to New York, VP Biden,” Charlamagne said. “It’s a long way until November. We’ve got more questions.” “You’ve got more questions?” Biden replied. “Well, I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” Charlamagne explained that “it don’t have nothing to do with Trump, it has to do with the fact [that] I want something for my community.” But Biden remained adamant in promoting what he described as a career of public service devoted to advancing civil rights. “Take a look at my record, man! I extended the Voting Rights [Act] 25 years. I have a record that is second-to-none,” he said. “The NAACP’s endorsed me every time I’ve run. I mean, come on. Take a look at the record.” https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/22/joe-biden-breakfast-club-interview-274490
About this gaffe: 1) It reads worse than it sounded. 2) It's really up to Black people to decide how to feel about it. 3) It was a really stupid thing to say. One thing I'll add about Biden's tendency to stick his foot in his mouth--this is kinda what you get when you want politicians to be more "authentic" and less scripted.
It was done jokingly but still not best choice of words https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5ec7e599c5b698a0930689da
Did you feel like Jesus? Did you realize That you were a champion in their eyes? Get along Get along, Kid Charlemagne Get along, Kid Charlemagne
Yeah, Joe. Whether he crossed the line isn't for me to decide. That's between him and the African-American community.
Agree. This morning brouhaha was simply manufactured noise for me, but that may force Biden's hands though to pick a black woman. (fine with me though). @Auriaprottu, @song219, @Deadtigers,@onefineesq, what do you think of this morning story with Charlemagne? Any thoughts on a potential vp nominee? PS. I hope I did not miss any AA on the thread...
I said exactly what was said in post 1667 to my nephew earlier. He has just painted himself into a corner of having to pick, no doubt whatsoever, a Black woman. Joe just speaks, kinda like Trump. The difference is Joe is a bit goofy and awkward when he riffs and Trump is downright mean and nasty when he does. But Joe must be careful of taking the votes of Black people for granted. That is a dangerous game. So again, he has painted himself into the Black woman corner. Kamala Harris, Val Demmings, Stacey Abrams, Susan Rice, etc. just started doing a happy dance. Whitmer, Klobuchar, Warren, Grisham, etc. just facepalmed.
