Looks like Demerit will also get a chance to play first team ball today.

    CAP HIM NOW!

Ok, got that out of the system.
I think this is a great for Demerit. I'm rooting for him to show well.
Watford is a middle of the table team right now, but has a very good GF-GA difference... they could easily move up the table, though I'm not looking at them for a promotion push, but it's a good situation for Jay to learn.

    Oh, yeah..remember him?

Watford and United in penalties right now. 0-0, Demerit went 120 minutes.

Watford advances 3-2 from the spot. Or 4-2, the Beeb is screwed up. Demerit did not get a try.

Soccernet says Jay should have had a PK called on him for a handball on a cross.
Also says that in the last minute of OT he missed an open header that should haved kept the match from penalties. Damn, that would have been sweet for the kid.
Said the match was dour. Hope he did well overall. Did go the full 120 and no goals against, so no big mistakes, except pulling a Johnny O maybe. Nah, only one Johnny O.
Watched that again yesterday. In real speed you just can't tell. Good boy.

Hasn't Jay played 3 real team matches now (An FA, A regular, and a Carling?), and he went 90/120 in all.....and I believe Watford did well in all (no losses, 2 wins maybe) and only allowed 1 goal? That's damn good progress from a year ago! :)

Jay's played in the reserves and all 3 rounds of the Carling Cup now (1-0 over Cambridge, 3-0 over Reading, and tonight)

    3 shutouts?!!!!!

2 sides in the Coca-Cola: one in 3rd, one in 7th, and one side in League 2

Hard to argue the kid doesn't belong (so far)...meaning: competing for a starting role.

Well, we certainly don't have any shortage of defenders playing in Europe now do we?

I saw on SkySports last night that Karby is on the squad for Arsenal tonight as well.
