Saw this on the Watford site:

Looking to continue their winning start to the season - the reserves won 1-0 away to West Ham in their only game so far - players like Richard Lee, Adrian Mariappa, Jay DeMerit, Matthew Spring, Al Bangura, Dominic Blizzard, Anthony McNamee, Tamas Priskin and Hameur Bouazza are all in the starting line-up.

So.... seeing Jay playing a midweek reserve match.... good or bad sign?

I don't think it is a bad sign. Michael Essein played in a recent reserve squad match for Chelsea and he is still a starting midfielder. Scored a goal in yesterday's Champion's League match. I don't know why DeMerit was benched despite his above average performance in first three games. Maybe they needed him to get back in form for this Saturday.

    3-1 to Reading's second string.
