Wow - I like your dedication - DC fell down in the end and you're still interested in the next year and buying a shirt.

I believe new shirts will be announced next year sometime (Jan/Feb). I'm not sure how much they will change (VW will still be the sponsor as 2012 is the last year of the original deal).

I do believe they will ship overseas as they have mentioned shipping them all over previously. If you use twitter you could ask @dcunited or @kylesheldon - they're fairly responsive.

Also there's usually an end of year sale (online too) between 25-50% off so you might want to watch out for that.

Someone around here figured we were due for the 2 year cycle re-design this winter. If there's a new jersey, they are usually going to have it available prior to the superdraft in January because they want to put their draft picks in them for pictures.

If you like this year's, next years prob won't be much different, and you should wait for the December/January mega sales on this year's.

I didn't see this mate no, BUT i had heard he was on trial/training with us, what's he like? He seems to like our ground/supporters and training facilities, he could spend half a season with us and half with you :p maybe I could get him to bring me a DCU top over next time :D lol!

To me, he is definitely one of the bright spots of the season. He really showed massive improvement from the beginning of the season to the end. At the start he was more just relying on his scary athleticism, but by the end he really started to learn how to control his box and direct his defense.

On a personal note, he seems to be very hard-working and driven (a ka he wants to play in the EPL). I played against him in high school (although I am a few years older than him and much, much less talented), on the field he was intense, but off he was very reserved. Good guy all around.

Looking forward to seeing it, and depending on when it goes on sale might see if I can get somebody to buy it me for xmas :p
Which kit do you guys prefer then, the black home kit or the white away 1, and was last season the first time you had the 3rd red kit and is it something that you think DCU will have again next season?

Most fans lean towards the black kit. As for the third, last season was the first for it. I believe it will be back for next season.

this may be a stupid question but are those long sleeve jerseys hot? I really want a long sleeve and the jersey material is pretty thin so im thinking I may be able to get away with it.

If you're talking about the training jerseys, I got one of the black ones last year. I don't find it too hot but it's a bit heavier than the super lightweight ones you can find in stores.

I often use an A-shirt or a compression T-shirt under it in the wintertime to keep my core warm.

no no I mean the replica home or away jersey.

I'm just wondering if it would be too hot to wear to the midsummer games

You should stop over and say hello. Let him know you are DCU supporter and you correspond with DCU fans on BigSoccer. I think you would be surprised by the reaction.

Most US player are very approachable.

To be fair he seems a very down to earth guy on twitter, and I've sent him a few tweets and he's even re tweeted them which I surprised by but thought fair play

I kind of like the new home shirts but not the away versions. I guess its the same pattern San Jose used a year or two ago. Oh and the third red shirt version continues for 2012.

The Supporters sections are in the afternoon sun, so long-sleeves for a Sunday afternoon game would be rough

White reflects the sunlight, while Black would absorb it

White would show food/drink stains more than Black

That said, I often wear a long-sleeved white cotton shirt in the summer to keep the sun off - The jerseys will be synthetic blend, but I think they're breathable - And it helps if its a little loose
