A positive article about Del Bosque. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/inside_game/pedro_pinto/news/2002/09/28/del_bosque/
Good article. I think that Del Bosque is the ideal manager for the Real Madrid for many things: - He is a club's man. He knows the club better that anyone. He has been player, young teams manager and now first team manager. - He represent perfecly all the ideals of the Club. And he transmits them very well to the players. And to all the people around the club. - He has demostrate that he can manage very well a team with many stars, making at the same time that the subs - Guti, Solari, Cesar, Macca, etc - were identified with the team even they don't play many minutes. He has demostrated many times that if they fight they will have their opportunities to play and even to be in the starting team. I hope that he can stay many years in the club. He has been the ideal manager for the centenary year because as i said before he has the Real Madrid in his blood.
Absolutely. IMO the respect he shows his players is key. You never see him losing his cool in public and is always respectful. A friend of mine said he probably would not be as successful at another team. I think he could, but we will never know. Too much Real Madrid running through his veins.
The only (and yes, i mean only) problem with del Bosque is that he doesn't seem to know how to motivate his team to play well against the small teams in the league. This is really going to hurt us someday.
Good article, but they forgot to include Vicente's nicknames as a player: "lentocampista" ("slowfielder") and "cámara lenta" ("slow motion"). They explain by themselves...
Actually it hurt us last year, when we lost to Osasuna to put Valencia in the driver's seat for the league title. But I think the real problem is his failure to rest players. Dmar touched on this in another post. With the bench Real Madrid has there's no reason not to rotate more often to keep fresh legs in the game. That being said, he is still the right man for the job. The results speak for themselves.
Actually I mean SERIOUSLY hurt us. Last year, with winning the champion's league, it was easier to swallow, but we won't win the Champions League every year, and with the number of good teams in Spain now (Barca, Betis, Valencia, Depor, Celta especially), you can't guarantee Champions League qualification unless you concentrate on all games, and you can't rely on wiining the Champions League. I also agree with Dmar about the need for rotating his players better, Zidane, Roberto Carlos and Raul especially seem to play a ridiculous number of games. With players lile Solari, Porti-gol, Morientes on the bench, we really can afford to rotate the players more. Pity about the defence though, we just don't have the depth to even think of rotation. I'd really
I'm glad you agree with me in the rotation issue... I think this year del Bosque is more willing to do this -maybe because the subs are doing better...? Anyway, we've got a couple problems: the centre of the defence, like Anirbanblah pointed, can't rotate much. And we haven't a decent substitute for Cambiasso -Guti might be this one, but he's being used as forward and now he's going to the NT and will soon be the one in need to be rotated- and Makelele -Solari?-.
