personally i really like the job Davids was doing in Barca, but he chose money over the great dutch companion and great team. deco and ronnie is way too offensive not 2 mention Frank likes 2 play with him on the left winger position. so the middle will be three mid fielders, deco xavi and another defensive midfielder. maniche would be great there, but the deal is a no go, mota is good, but too young and too much temperament. well we can always dream of xabi alonso, but more realistically i dont have a clue.

I think none of this is for sale, perhaps Xabi if you come with 25 million € to Sociedad.
Van Bommel, I dont think he is DM player we need, more like game creator-same as xavi.
I think we should go to Italy and bring a DM player from there (Gattuso ;) )

Well, I guess since we won't have Davids anymore, I'd settle for the lesser option, Patrick Vieira.

Pirlo is more like Xavi, he is a defensive playmaker. But Gattuso is the man with energy. What a shame he isnt for sale!
Vieria :D , are you drunk, we would have to sell Ronnie to pay Arsenal for his services! I would rather see one more spanish player in Barca squad. Any other names than just Xabi and Albelda?

Yes, in came as a complete SHOCK when I heard Edgar Davids went to Inter, Inter barely made the champions league. He made such a difference to Barca, but if competition for places at Chelsea get a bit hard, Claude Makelele would be it. Claude has said life in England was hard because of the language barrier. Even Michel Salgado, his friend and former team-mate at Real said he wishes the Real Madrid board gave him what he wanted when he staged a strike.

So, teh def-mid would be Claude Makelele of Chelsea.

Mascherano. He's going to be one of the truly great players of the next 10 years, and I say get him now. He's still raw (just turned 20), but he's already better than Motta.

Non-EU problem. We'd have to jettison somebody or more players would have to get Non-EU passports

Barca can't afford Vieira. Davids went to Inter Milan for 2 reasons. I know these things because he text messages me everyday...snicker.

    1) BAGS AND BAGS OF EUROS from the insanely rich mad scientist looking Moratti! Davids wanted to get paid A LOT because the end of his career is near.

    2) He prefers the style of football played in Serie A!

I think they should sign Maniche. Great Euro 2004 performance and would fit in well at any top club in Europe.

    regarding Mascherano:
1: i think he would be a very good buy
2: in CM he does not have a euro passport. i realize it is just a game, but still.
3: if he is non-eu: barcelona currently have 3 non-eu. since nihat gained EU status i would think rustu and if not he is not really needed. as for marquez, he is good, but he is expendable imo.
