Since you're naming every single English player still playing, you forgot Tony Hibbert.

lol good question... let me see

    Nuno
    Frechaut
    Jorge Ribeiro
    Costinha
    Maniche
    Danny
    Cícero
Derlei (Brasilian/Portuguese) one of the best players FC Porto had in its glorious european campaigns, i could also had him to play in any Portugal NT team certainly he would make the Portugal B or C team but since Deco i don´t see any other Brazilian born player making it to the NT, this would cause alot problems with the press and the public opinion plus with hundreds of Brazilians playing in Portugal...the applications to Portuguese citizenship would rise sharply... alot of them would add even more depth Portugal but the concept of National team would be in serious crisis...despite the similar culture and values.

Agreed, IMO it's the English bench that lacks quality compared to other WC candidates.

    Something along these lines.

    -------------------Kirkland*
    Carra-------Terry----------Woodgate*---------Bridge
    ----------------------Carrick
    ---------SWP---------Parker-------J.Cole
    -----------------Defoe------Bent

    *Never fit

That would be better than the team we sent to the last world cup imo. Sinclair, Mills, Heskey ahh the memories.

John Terry and Joe Cole will almost certainly be starters for England next summer.

Not really, they will probably start but are by no means certs. If Sven deploys a holding midfielder (which a think is likely) J.Cole will be dropped. Terry hasn't for formed a partnership with anybody which comes close to Rio & Sol.
