The top story that is currently posted at the Norwegian website "toppserien.com" shows a picture of Hege in action playing for Norway and talks about how she has been training hard this past week in La Manga, Spain. On Saturday Unni Lehn and the rest of Norway's National Team will join Hege and Anita Rapp in La Manga. Both Riise and Rapp actually arrived in Spain last Saturday with NT assistant coach Hans Knutsen. I can't imagine why Hege would want to go to that extra effort of leaving cold dark Norway in early February just to spend an extra week training in sunny Spain. Dedicated Hege
The Norwegian website "toppserien.com" is reporting today that Kolbotn coach Per Danefeld is also joining Hege and Unni in La Manga as well and will be helping Norway prepare for their friendly matches against Denmark. It looks like Hege and Unni will a lot to discuss with Danefeld since another article posted at the "toppserien.com" site is reporting that Danefeld could have been Hege and Unni's coach in Carolina.
Hege Will Play Tomorrow Without Unni For the first time in over three years Hege Riise will be playing in a match for the Norwegian National Team without Unni Lehn. Today Norwegian coach Åge Steen announced Norway's starting line-up for tomorrow's friendly against Denmark and it was no surprise that Hege will be starting. Replacing the injured Lehn in Norway's starting line-up will be Leni Larsen Kaurin who will get her first start ever for Norway. Last season for the Courage the only match that Hege played without Unni was the regular season finale against San Diego when Unni had a slight groin strain and sat out that match as a precaution.
The extra time in Spain apparently paid off for Hege and Anita as they both scored today in Norway's 3-3 draw with Denmark. Dagny Mellgren also scored for Norway and Lene Jensen had a hattrick for Denmark.
