Cafe Brasil was great, for what it's worth. Cafe Madrid also later that evening (i think we spent 200 dollars on 2 people there stuffing/drinking ourselves silly)
thanks for the info. i don't eat at "cafes" though. sounds a little frou-frou for me. good band, frou frou. check out the Garden State soundtrack for a good song. speaking of Garden State, the lead actor/writer/director Zach Braff stars in Scrubs, which i finally watched for the first time last night. not a bad show, really. the pizza i ate last night still looked like pizza on the way out, though. that was gross.
I've never eaten there myself, but I've heard good things. As far as a place to drink before the game....it isn't exactly next to the stadium, but the Irish Rover near Stonebriar mall is a great pub. Of course, if you are one of the annointed you will have access to the pub in the stadium itself. But us "normal" folk will be hanging out in the parking lot.
Zen(Ben) is a great man. If you are in the Desoto or Arlington area, I suggest a place called Tons. It is a Mongolian grill when you pick what meats, vegis, sauces you want,a nd it is grilled in front of you. It is roughly $7.50(5.50 for the meal which includes rice, ice cream) a person if before 3pm and then it jumps up to $11. Now if we only had the type of grill they have, it would make tailgating that much more fun and easier to cook brats.
hey now---living in the past: a bit of a specialty of mine: I'm moved to commemorate "Hungreez", formerly on the the corner of Perry and Exhibition, where, after a Burn night game, I got 3 huge (and excellent) pizzas for $20 total 'cause the delivery man had brought them back. (put 2 in the freezer) Also---the Hungreez manager, the fellow wearing the black plastic-rimmed glasses, had played at USF ? UCF ? FIU ? one of those Florida schools! with a Wegerle brother. There's a different restaurant in there now, maybe iirc "Exposition Cafe"? Haven't been.
Roy Wegerle went to the University of South Florida....so that's probably it. The University of Florida doesn't have a men's program. But has a kickin' women's team.
yea the abbey is pretty weak....at least the one over on coit and campbell is, i havent been to the one in frisco
