Draw is Thursday 8/27 at 11:45am ET So another year and another--18, but who's counting--successive year of Champions League group stage football. With Dortmond not in the mix, it'd be nice to see some variety in our group this season. Still, Barca and Bayern await in Pot 1. The other possibilities are: Juventus, PSG, Benfica, Zenit and PSV Eindhoven. Personally, I'd like to see us draw Juve or PSG in Pot 1, and not Olympiacos, Shaktahr, or Galatasaray in Pot 3. Something different, something fresh, but also not Tel Aviv or Astana in Pot 4, because that's a lot of travel.... Thoughts?
Hey, don't write off VfL Wolfsburg, I know it's our/their first appearance in Champions League action since we/they won the Bundesliga title in 2009, we/they will be tough, believe me, Wolfsburg will give ANY team we/they face all they can handle, believe me when I say that Die Wolfe will be ready for Champions League action, no matter the opponent, so far we/they are 1-1-0 after 2 matches in the Bundesliga (so far) with a win at home against Eintracht Frankfurt (2-1) and a draw last week away to FC Koln (1-1) and look solid so far, plus, we/they have our old friend Nicklas "Lord Bendtner" IN DA HOUSE!!!

After consideration I'm not truly fearful of any side in Pot 3 or 4 so the hope is simply to avoid any Group of Death Scenario. If they draw, say, Sevilla and Wolfsburg on top of a Pot 1 giant then I'll be highly miffed. Hoping for tough groups for the Italian sides.
Perks of drawing Bayern: Can't get Monchengladbach or Wolfsburg from Pot 4. Anyone in that pot would be totally fine to draw.
