July Foudy in HD should constitute a criminal act. I ruined my carpet.

    Please fix this.

Univision had exposed cleavage. Should have watched their pregame show, Zak.

God forbid ESPN puts a former USWNT player who actually has a good knowledge of the game and won a world cup. No let's get some dumb bimbo who will yell "kick it kick it!"

My complaint, whoever did the recaps at half couldn't pronounce Jenas or Gerrard properly.

    Dear ESPN,

Thank you for giving us back JP Dellacamera and getting rid of Dave O'Brien.

And the postgame content was nice, too.

    Dear ESPN,

we dont give a shit about Duke and NC, if we did we would be watching that game and certainly dont give a shit about Texas Tech and Baylor.

we don't want you taking up a third of the screen with scoreboards

Ha ha. Foudy is so haggard. Who cares if she knows something about soccer. A good looking chick that doesn't can read cue cards and give us something to look at. You know a Mexican station wouldn't be caught dead putting on someone hid like Jules.

Get rid of the WNT commentators period. All of them have been horrible (Chastain, Mitts, Foudy). Didn't ESPN hire Allen Hopkins like a year ago? why not have him do something for the broadcast? He's actually good at that stuff.

    And I miss Wynalda already.

Okay everyone I only had to read about half the posts to need to say this:

First off to me, the play by play was an upgrade, it was not at all biased, which is a step up from wynalda, even though he may seem to rip on a lot of americans.

Understand what country we are in, duke unc was a great, important, incredible sports game and matchup with incredible fan support. It was also an incredible nba night, new orleans and pheonix with a 2OT thriller, updates would have been given in the middle of ANY sporting event with the games which were going on. updates were never really an issue, we just are the most unique country in the world because we have so many great sports, epic sports.

Plus, we must not stoop to others levels, many Americans who love the beautiful game try to argue why soccer is supurior to other sports, and people who commit themselves to basketball, baseball, or football, try to do the same. They are all great games, lets not try to care too much that others don't always feel the same about soccer, after all, we all feel that American international soccer and the MLS is on the rise! lets be patient, it will get there

Trust me, this is not a post that is claiming ESPN was great for soccer, but lets focus on more important things, after all, we cant enjoy sometihng if we expect it to be negative, so i hope we can see the positive in what was actually an epic, well covered game with solid camera angles, replays, and commentary

Wynalda and Mitts have something the current ESPN anchors don't. PERSONALITY!! Charisma, charm, good looks, etc. They are both players that played and have faces/bods that go for TV. I wouldn't mind listening to Foudy if she were on radio, but I saw her fill up my 65 inch TV in HD and I wanted to stick sharp things in my eyeballs.

Respect the player and knowledge, but man, she's not TV hot. The guy who mentioned Univision hotties that work the mics. They know what gets the ratings!!!!!!!!! :)

    Amen to it all, thanks.

And you're right - if I want to watch UNC - Duke or read for the 500th time that Clemens' blood may or may not be on stuff some guy kept for six years to prove himself innocent... geez, ESPN, we get it. I know their average watcher has a 5 second attention span, but for soccer watchers, we stare at the screen for 45 minutes straight... give us a break!

They want the broadcast - believe me, it's great to see in HD and on ESPN during Rivalry Week rather than the Fuzzy Soccer Channel (I mean, really, is there no technology in the world to bring us EPL or Serie A in some sort of resolution we can watch?)... but this is what the REMOTE CONTROL is for... clicking over to other stuff.

As for Foudy - she's a soccer junky who knows her stuff. Someone needs to send her a mirror before she goes on... Sorry about your carpet. Chastain and she KNOW THE GAME and LOVE THE GAME... they're fine. Harkes is a genuine HOMER... see him cringe when JP called him "Captain for Life..." more like "Captain Until you Ruin Team Chemistry" or 26 games, whichever comes first...
