    You suck.

One of the nice things about TiVo is that I can watch all your screw-ups over and over again and point them out to my long-suffering wife. But I didn't need TiVo to notice Colorado's consistently killing us all night long on our left flank. And I didn't need it, thanks to Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain's numerous replays, to notice that you were running away from Chris Henderson (on our left side) when he got the rebound -- completely unmarked, thanks to your run towards the goal line -- and put it in. But I did laugh a little when you slipped and fell on your ass trying to clear it off the line.

Jeff Cassar is probably too good of a teammate to do this, but he probably owes you a significant ass-whooping for making him save the team's bacon all night long.

Please retire, quit, whatever. I just don't want to see you in a Burn uniform ever again.

    Love,
    ElJefe

    Dear Chris Gbandi -

Please start believing your "press". Most of the time, it is bad for players to read their own press. They get big-headed because their press reports are usually effusive and full of "great pass" and "amazing vision". Your press reports, you ass, are full of "Gbandi slipped", and "Gbandi let him go by" or "Gbandi fouls".

So please, Gbaddie, read your ********ing press reports and get a clue.

    Bigtoga

PS - Hey coach, it's about time you paid attention to Gandi's press too...

PS. You could buy yourself a few brownie points with the FC Dallas fans by taking out a certain DC United player whose name we will not mention. ;)

Yes, and don't worry about getting a red card. Sitting out the next game is not the end of the world.

Chris Gbandi was going to the far post bacause of the original cross. That cross appeared to be going in the goal at the far post. That is why Cassar put so much effort into knocking it out. If Cassar hadn't got to it it appeared that Gbandi had a pretty good chance of clearing it and saving the goal. He did not make a mistake on this particular play. A far post goal on the cross was VERY possible. This is very clear on the MLS Wrap review of the play. Of course, it's interesting that 8-10 yards behind Henderson (right mid) is our left mid Davis. Just standing there making no effort and showing no reaction to do anything. Since that is only a snap-shot type picture of Davis I can't put too much into it though. At lease Gbandi was hustling and reacting on this particular play.

I'm not commenting here on his overall game but just this one particular situation.

To be fair both Gbandi and Salyer looked like wankers in defense last night. Salyer is a chauffer to attackers looking for the box. What fazool he is, I think it needs to go to Reyes and Behncke once Gibbs is back, whenever that is??

Am I the only one wondering what the point is of him being gone if he doesn't see some time today?

I"m guessing I was probably the only BS poster who is a Burn fan who was at the game last night. Yes, Gbandi was crap, but damn, it was Salyer who was repeatedly toasted horribly. Hard to give Chris his walking papers while not dishing out criticism to the guy on the right side as well...

...on the plus side, it was great to see Jason's goal in person :)

I didn't see the game at all. Can someone tell me how much time Davis and ROB spent tracking back on defense?

I have noticed a definite lack of defense from both of those players but, since ROB does so much offensively, everyone is too busy singing his praises and willing to overlook his defensive shortcomings.

Davis was MIA for the most part on both ends, minus the corners he's been swinging in. But with a two d-mid midfield setup I wouldn't get too worried about the lack of defense from the wings.

Then who is supposed to mark the other teams outside mids?

In the Colorado game the Burn played the 4-3-3 that they ended last year with. Davis and O'Brien started a bit more back for the first 20 minutes or so making more like a 4-5-1.... but after that they started pushing forward, which is why they both were not as present on the defensive end. The Three central mids in that formation (Kreis, Talley, and Preja) are asked to do more tracking of those outside players.

I agree with El Jefe. Gbandi routinely is beaten to the ball, and then makes a dangerous tackle to try and make up for his lack of skill. I read an article earlier this year where he blamed his poor play on his injury (incurred before the draft). "People forget I lost a year because of my ACL" or something like that. He doesn't even own up that hs play is lacking in anything. Excuses, excuses.

Chris, it may not seem like a long time to you, but I think that TW0 YEARS should be enough to recover and learn to think on the MLS level. Right now, you do not belong on the field. I'd like to see you play in the PDL for a season or two, before you hurt someone permanently. You are just a younger, less skilled version of Dema, and I do not want you on my team. I do not understand why CC continues to give you the starting position. You sure didn't earn it last year, and I'd be willing to bet that over half of the goals scored against us last year came from your mistakes.

As far as I am concerned, we could trade Gbandi to some Peruvian Llama farmers for 40 pounds of Llama crap. At least we could burn the crap to keep ourselves warm at night.

Gbandi is a DUD. A first round, first pick, no two ways about it - DUD.

At the Metros game, he may have played his best game ever - which was about equal to the minimum I expect from an MLS starting defender. He thinks he is Roberto Carlos when what he really is is Ricardo Irabarren without the defensive skills.

    Plus he's a got a big head.

I didn't see Salyer have that bad a game actually. I do remember one (at least I think it was him) time he allowed a guy in the corner to just run along the goal line. He got badly beat one other time by Rey but other than that he made some blinding stops. He is such a level above Gbandi it is crazy.
Setting aside the fact that he is almost never caught out of position whereas Gbandi is almost never in position, take a look at when they go forward.
Did you see the time Gbandi just missed the ball & handed it over in his own half?
Salyer always turns up field & pushes the midfielder back before deciding to go inside or chip it over to EJ/Ronnie. Admittedly Gbandi doesn't have the same options on his side but he doesn't even try anything.

You know, I started this reply thinking that I would say something about how comparing any of our Burn players to Dema is out of bounds. But then I asked myself, "How long do I think it'll be until Gbandi breaks someone's leg or otherwise ************s someone up pretty badly?" My answer: It could happen any day now. He likes the two-footed tackle too much, and you can tell he doesn't have much control with it. Plus he's fast enough to put some serious power behind it. If he keeps starting it is only a matter of time. And even if he DID have some skills to go with his hatchet jobs, I still don't want someone like that on my team. We can't call Dema evil and then not condemn that kind of play when it happens in our own team.
