Just heard that DeRosario broke his foot while on the Canadian national team duty. (I think it happened yesterday?) I didn't get the details on how bad the injury really is - i.e. what exactly is broken on the foot.
I'm sure we hear more details today.

Daaaaammmmnnnn. When originally announced, tomorrow's friendly had potentially five Earthquakes playing (4 for USA, 1 for America Jr.). Now we're down to two!!!

If this is true, except us to draft a forward in the first round...I should just say: expect the unexpected today.

Or Levesque? Frank has his eye on him as well. Sucks about DeRo though, leaves us with very few options up front.

We're ****** already if we're relying on a draft pick to contribute much right away.

    Trade, Frank, trade!!!!

On the other hand, Barclay will be in the UAE for the U 20 WC and Donovan will be gone for the CONCACAF Gold Cup and Confederations Cup...that leaves us with Pwamme....

you're right Blue we are so fcuking screwed...freak out.

    Official Release from CSA

Ottawa, Ontario - Canadian Men's World Cup Team head coach Holger Osieck today announced he has called in forward Rob Friend to replace the injured Dwayne de Rosario for Saturday's friendly against the United States on Saturday, January 18 at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale (FOX Sports World Canada).

De Rosario fractured a bone in his right foot during a training session Thursday and will be sidelined for at least four weeks. Friend, who recently signed with Moss of the Norwegian Second Division, becomes the seventh member of the squad making his debut with the World Cup Team in South Florida and is the fifth player to be recalled from the current Olympic and Under-20 team camp in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Well, that sucks. I was kind of looking forward to seeing DeRo play.

Not that a grad student living in university housing would have access to pay-per-view anyhow in a soccer-unfriendly town...

Guess I'll go to the hockey game instead.

While we did draft Levesque, he did his knee in Portugal and won't be available for 6 months.

De Rosario was also supposed to go on trial after the game at Nottingham Forrest.

"....DeRosario's injury comes at a bad time. The San Jose Earthquakes striker had been scheduled to leave for England after the U.S. game to join Nottingham Forrest on trial"

great, so we quite possibly could have been without Dero had he impressed/or impresses if the trail is reconfigured....

Isn't he under contract with San Jose? I assume that he will be back with the Earthquakes this year....
