Well, we've been to hockey games together, some have been to the bowling alley or want to throw darts and we discuss basket-ball and football every time a big game is on : I thought I would try boxing. Are any of you guys interested in the fight tomorrow (more on it here : http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/more/05/04/bout.picks/index.html )? I might try calling a couple of bars to see if I can go and watch these two amazing athletes slug it out.
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather What time is the match, err, bout? A little something to get you in the mood
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather You won't see it at a bar unless that bar is willing to shell out about $10,000. Pay Per View events like this severely restricted as to who can purchase them. Back in the day Owen at Kilroy's would order the fight to the tv in the upstairs office and tape it. As soon as the fight was over he'd run downstairs and put it on all the tv's in the bar. Perfectly legal. Me? I'm going to a buddies house with a 64' HD. Fully stocked bar and pool table. I hope De La Hoya knocks that chump OUT.
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather I was seriously thinking about getting it at home and watching it. Let me know what you find, it should be a kicken fight. edit: Whoops, It is James, not Blondie
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather I just watched an hour on HBO. Should be a war. I think Mayweather moving up to 154 is going to bother him. Not because he isn't as fast or in shape but because he hasn't been hit by a true middleweight. Oscar's left hook is ferocious. He catches Mayweather with that sucker and it's lights out.
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather Well I don't really know alot about boxing, but I'd like to see De La Hoya win. Mayweather is a cocky punk who talks alot of smack and as much as I like the 'f bomb' it's old. Plus he's undefeated, right? Well, we can't have that. Besides, De La Hoya is the classier guy, and when in doubt I go for class. I'm guessing you're pulling for De La Hoya?
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather As Chico said, moving up in weight may hurt Mayweather. But I can't call it either way. Can't wait to watch it, though. Headed into the city to catch it with a couple of my boys.
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather I know nothing of boxing (Im more an MMA man) but I'm pulling for De La Hoya. He seems like you could talk to him in a line or a bar or some place. It dosnt look like I'll be able to see the fight (babysitter went and made plans for when she leaves here. I should pay her with a check) but hopefully it'll go a good long time.
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather A shot? Yeah. I think he has more than a shot. It'll be a fun one to see, but I think Liddells going down. I wanna see Griffin fight Bonner again. I could watch them beat the shit out of eachother 24/7.
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather Damn, Chico, looks like you were right. I called a few bars and none of them are showing the fight and they ALL sound tired of having to say no. There's even one where the guy says "Good evening, no, we will not be showing the DLH-M fight, is there anything else I can do for you ?" Guess I'll have to skip this.
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather Myeah... I don't know that I can afford that. No big deal, you guys can tell me all about the fight manana at the tailgate!
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather I'm watching on Sopcast. Great stream. Just hope it stays for the main event. http://www.myp2p.eu/Other.htm
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather I'm trying to figure what I need to do to do the same. Right now, I'm downloadding PPLive. Am I on the right track?
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather No. It's been a long time since I've installed it... I think it's simply www.sopcast.com, and there should be a link to download. EDIT: You can download it from the web link I providied. http://www.myp2p.eu/Programs/Sopcast.htm
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather There was an issue at my friends house so I just stayed home and got it. If you guys want I can do a round by round synopsis.
Re: De La Hoya - Mayweather That would be awesome, Chico, if you don't mind? I used to stay up late with my pops watching fights, and I still get a jonesin' for the big ones.
