Did I miss a thread here? http://www.thestar.com/article/1225982--toronto-fc-trades-julian-de-guzman-to-fc-dallas I know it came up in the player movement thread, but it's pretty rare a DP getting traded doesn't get its own. Maybe that's a testament to just how bland his play was (not sucky in any lowlight-reel play, but profoundly uninfluential over most of his TFC career for such an expensive player).
I'll be in the minority here and predict advantage Dallas. De Guzman is still an exceptional midfielder, he's just a victim of Winter's tactics. His salary will go down if he resigns with MLS.
I'm still amazed they could find a taker for his salary, and this was a salary dump plain and simple. Mariner hasn't been using JDG and has preferred Dunfield of late, and needed to clear cap space for some help at the back that's apparently on the way. I believe he was the last MoJo signing left as well - obviously not counting academy and draftees.
