Our attacking lineup is a shambles. I expect zeroes goals from any of the forwards unless Higuain wants to say HI to his brother. Our only hope is their incompetence and maybe a set piece goal from Brilliant or Birnbaum. Please play the kids. And Chris.
Is Paredes hurt? Why isn't he starting? He was pretty much the best player last week. He worked his butt off in the center of the midfield, finding pockets to show for the ball and linking the back line to the attack. He was an important outlet for distribution from the back. I know that schedule congestion factors in to team selection, but I think Paredes earned the start.
It's like Toronto forgets how to clear balls when they play against us. Great hustle by Kamara and good finish
I'd rather Pines make mistakes in this wreck of a season and learn from them... that was remarkably athletic and painfully awkward all in one package...
A few positives: Abu looking good in transition. COA playing with confidence in 1v1 situations on the overlap on the right. Negative: Mora just went down with some sort of injury!
OK. Pretty even game at the half. We did create a handful of decent scoring chances, but things still seem a bit haphazard in the attack and we still can't get Gressel involved. I hope Abu is OK. We are getting pretty thin in that position and he was just starting to gain confidence and chemistry with the team.
Unmarked inside the 6 yard box... wonderful defending. Nice header, but there was no one within 3 yards of him
Winning begets winning and losing begets losing. The team isn't playing bad and at times it seems normal "above the red line play." But like 2012 when we were winning ugly, but still finding a way to win, the losing culture surrounding the team now means the team will lose matches where they actually perform decently.
