wednesday 10:30 PM ET Seattle will be missing a bunch of starters. DC missing Bill Cute baby animal: unicorn. just like the promotional drink, it disappeared before we even knew it existed--if it even did.
I'm rooting for Seattle. At this point this season is lost. The last thing we need is to scrape our way back into the playoff hunt and just miss it in 7th place. That would reinforce the failed policies of this season and and they'll double down on it for next season. One of the best seasons in the Olsen era was 2014, immediately following the 2013 catastrophe. At this point it's the only way we know how to compete. Get some free allocation money and some high draft picks and rebuild the team. If they're really ambitious they can aspire to what Chicago did, but that would require some DP spending. I'd settle for a rebound into the top 4 next year.
TV update per Goff: D.C. United match at Seattle on Wednesday was supposed to appear on ABC7, but now relegated to NewsChannel 8. Kickoff: 10:30 ET.
I hope Pablo's tweet has some truth behind it. Ben said expect an attacking peice and I hope it's a DP worthy type of player. As far as upgrading our roster like Chicago did, we should have a lot of expensive contracts run out at the end of the season and should be able to go shopping during the winter window. Also, I read somewhere that 4 international roster spots will return to our club.
For a moment when I saw this thread my reaction was, "********, I have to go to another game." Then I saw that it's a road game and I was relieved. ********, that's sad.
Say what you will about this season, but after watching the limp Gold Cup performances by the U.S., I'm glad to be disappointed by United again. With the firepower Seattle is missing, the question would seem to be whether Worra can shake off the Dallas game. If so, he may be able to superman us into a scoreless draw. But probably not. Seattle, 2-0.
It's truly sad but not that bad, yet. Think of it as a penance you are paying forward to earn that undefeated season at AUDI Field. Or if that don't work for ya try to get on Dr Phil and cop some free luxury therapy in Madrid or Barcelona
Some people start from which players are available or not for Seattle as some point of hope or possibility. The real starting point is that this team has no heart or will to win and probably some people involved in the organization don't care if we win or draw all that much. This is a game we could win but the heart and will issue will lead us to defeat.
Wait, I thought your shtick was to emphasize how the team only has heart and "bite" but that's useless with shit coaching and lack of technical ability. You confuse me (not that I find your opinions anything but amusing either way). anyway....... I can't out-do the baby unicorn so I'll just leave my DCU: 2 Seattle: 1 upset prediction here. And to just say ******** everything important this week happening on Wed night at the same basic time. USA Gold Cup game on FS1, DC United game on NC8 - and all the while over on Fox Business the NASCAR truck dirt race at Eldora. I only have two tuners dammit - maybe there will be a volcano eruption and/or tidal wave that delays the United game until Thursday.
USA is at 9 and DC at 1030 - with our USA reinforcements brought in you would hope the game should be decisively over by 1030.
This is my hope, but I'd still like to watch both - even when we're down by 7 (either US or DCU) I still want to watch it all Plus, even up by 7 I don't trust either team to comfortably maintain that lead
That used to be our team. It isn't anymore. We lack heart, talent, bite, speed, etc. Some of that is injuries and the other is that we are at our coaching ceiling. We are at the perfect nexus of shit coaching, shit players, and shit effort. james
