We played worse and won against an inferior opponent for the second week in a row. A road win? Sure. A win win? Sure. Happy but if this makes Pajoy a starter from now on, welp.
Unreal. Ugly, and arguably the worst game I've seen Hamid play that he didn't get thrown out of. Still, 3 points on the road. A really fantastic goal. (One has to ask -- if Pajoy can do that, what would it take for him to do that more regularly.) Great game by Santos, who looked awesome off the bench. I hope Korb isn't really injured...
Just a hideous game. Glad Santos somehow came up with that miraculous ball to Pontius. I'm really starting to dread our future with the current setup. It's hard to watch outside of CP13 and the occasional moment when Najar plays the game with his natural creativity. Olsen seems to prefer a bunch of Ben Olsen clones (run hard, step on heels, and knock the ball around like a pinball machine) to a team that makes any effort to control a game through possession.
Three huge ones. Pajoy sticks it to his old team. Phuck the Phunion. Oh yeah, there's no such thing as an ugly win. Three points is sweet nectar.
Indeed. This year's MLS Cup is just making the playoffs. We need to get back in the groove of making the playoffs.
2001 wasn't great either and there was the added spectre of the league maybe not being there for 2002.
I am hoping for playoffs so I can quit my 2012 season boycott. No matter how U.G.L.Y. that game was....still a road win and points we need.
Points are points, just enjoy while they last... United vs Union: Pajoy payback ends United road skid as United vault to 4th place in playoff chase
There's some value in the Slumpbuster. If not for the occasional slumpbuster, Mike Martin never would have gotten laid in college. Take the hideous three points and Run to the Hills (Iron Maiden - Yeah!)
Hey Shammypantaloons, since you quit Olsen's army two games ago, both games have been decided when two of his subs have delivered game-winning goals on practically their first touch. Just sayin' is all.
Yadda yadda. We have a long uphill climb to get there. We're playing horribly against teams that have apparently no ability to put shots on goal. A long way still to go. And damn, that's an ugly style to play.
I really don't think NE or Philly are bad teams. You're simply not going to tear them apart. They have offensive weaknesses, but Philly, especially, is pretty tough defensively. That game may have been ugly, and DC still has some glaring problems, but this isn't an opponent to sneeze at.
