I'm in Amsterdam at the moment and I'm wearing my United scarf as I walk around. Several people have recognized it ( ) and commented on it. I've asked if we can have John O'Brien from Ajax but they only want Adu in return. Oh well. The adiddas store occasionly has United scarves, but hasn't had one in over a year. Sachin
I thought you meant that DCU was going to play Ajax (who are coincidentally on Eurosport right now playing Madrid) in Amersterdam. I was dialling AirBaltija with my left hand and scrolling with my right! But alas ... another misleading thread title!
Skippy, this is totally off-topic but I imagine the performance of the Latvian NT to get into the European Championships is the talk of the country. I was in Istanbul 2 weeks ago and caught the second leg of the playoff against Turkey at the Besiktas stadium. Talk about a cauldron to play in--I've seen the Turkish fans on TV but to be in the middle of the stadium gave me a pretty clear idea how tough it is to play against Turkey. The Latvian side played so bravely that a lot of the Turkish fans gave them a standing ovation at the end of the match.
Curse you, Sachin...I'm so jealous. Way to represent DCU abroad. Dude, you gotta hook me up with the new Ajax away shirt. I'll get you something from the equipment sale on Friday.
I'll be there in 3 weeks wearing mine...look for it And tell them we'll give 'em Adu for Sneijder, Van Der Vaart, and O'Brien...after next season
Me too - Sachin - consume something with alot of red in it at a coffeshop for me, I'm sure you can find something black in there too to properly represent the colors Aren't Revelation and his lovely wife there as well sometime this month?
Have fun! The Netherlands is a great place to visit (or live), though it's probably wet/cold/sleeting right now. What!!! This is the pure heaven when done right. Tried it once and never looked back. No other condiment compares to the mastery that is mayo.
Huh? I'm serious. That is some quality stuff. But to each his own, I guess. And I wish I could be Eurotrash. They're tolerant of others, have no problems with crime, and are a whole lot better than the close-minded, puritanical US. Well, at least the Netherlands were and that's based on living there for a few years.
"Sold my plasma in Amsterdam. Spent it all in a night, buying drinks at the MelkWeg for a soldier in drag." I love the mayo on the fries, but in Amsterdam, be careful with the late-night shopfront vendors. My friend and I got fries with some dodgy mayo, and lost valuable vacation time the next day with, um, gastro-intestinal complications. Nice work, Sachin, and all the rest who represent United while traveling. I'm sure Revelation is spreading the good word too, as we speak...
translation = *#*#*#*#*# everywhere no thanks im happy with the way the USA is after all this is the best country in the world
Until you realize that over half the world hates us because we have a superiority complex. But the rest love us. It truly is a crazy world.
Thamlin to FC Volendam? Darth, I'll try to get a jersey. The real ones are more than 100 euros, which is a hell of a lot in dollars. I went to Volemdam last night for the FC Voldendam-FC Twente match. Had a blast. Their supporters stand rocks as much as any of ours. I'll post pictures as soon as I get them back. And their goalie looks a hell of a lot like Thamlin. I even started a "Are you Thamlin in diguise" song. Amsterdam rocks. That's all I have to say. Sachin
The Dutch do good fries no matter what you have put on them. Have fun and visit some historical stuff too.
Re: Thamlin to FC Volendam? If not, that's cool. I'll probably end up getting a replica. Did you want me to pick you up anything from the equipment sale?
I wouldn't know if I'm in Amsterdam... I've been in so many countries over the last few weeks that I could be in Timbuktu... Of course, if I do happen to see an DC United scarf around, I'll make sure to comment... I might even be seen wearing mine...
If you go to Volendam, I know you'll see one. I'm prepping for a big order of DC merchandise to send over there. Sachin
