Glad to get a win. The look on Dema's face was priceless---"How in the hell did they write those signs in cyrillic and Ukrainian?"

Jeffries--The only sub was Cerritos, right? Mistake on Mike's part IMHO, we were dead tired at the end of the game

Suarez--played well defensively but the guy just gives away too many balls for me to like him at RB. IMHO he needs to bite the bullet, take one for the team(and himself) and switch to the center.

Gbandi--whoa, this guy finally shows up and lives up to the hype.

Davis---nice crosses, but I'd rather see him up top when Chivas is healthy so we have someone who can play combinations.

Vaca--played well tonight, let's hope for more.

Jeffries had a great quote on what it was like for the team to pick up their first win: ""It felt like we were on a desert island and got rescued by the Coors Light girls" :)

I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THIS GAME! So how did it go with Deam, did you guys boo at every touch of the ball? What did you do when they announced his name in the start? Did he love the signs or what?

Oh Jesus, you should have been there!

Pre game started with Stoitchkov trying to bean Inferno members with the ball off of warm-up shots on goal. He's such a class act. When will this doofus retire?

As the teams entered we presented about 20 signs in Ukranian tongue, some in Cryllic print! I heard later that the sentiments really rang home for Dema and the DC side as they stood in center field for the Natl Anthem.

The Burn played with class, which was great because as fans we're not required to have any. At the halftime we took our signs, our voices and a girl on crutches with a sign around her neck that says "Dema Got Me!" (check Ceritos' PK goal on tape and you'll see her behind the adsigns) over to the walkway where the teams exit.

Dema threw the cap of his waterbottle at me. Ooooh.

After the game we took the signs, drums and crutches to the DC bus and gave them a nice send-off. Hudson gave us a subtle international gesture and I think Petke was mad that no one gave a damn about him all game!

When DC comes back to town in about a month expect a whole lot of the same. This s--- aint over!

The more I know about Hudson, the less respect I have for him.

At least Kovalenko appears to be sorry about O'Brien's injury .

Hudson, on the other hand, gives the appearance that he couldn't care less that Ronnie's leg was broken. All Ray cares about is defending his boys from the media, fans, and everyone else who criticise them.

    Nice work Inferno.

The Dema chant was clearly audible, every single word. I would say the Burn showed way more class than Dema deserves. I mean, he never even got tackled hard the entire game.

It was nice of the network to remind everyone what he did to deserve the heckling...a two footed leaping tackle. It doesn't matter what he intended. He left his feet and threw himself into the opposing player; only an idiot or an MLS ref would fail to issue a red card. The first time I saw it I was outraged.

    And I still am.

It was a good time, wish you were here... wish Chris could've made it too, but he has a long way to travel.

The atmosphere was phenomenal, due mostly in part because of the Inferno. There was a lot of creative energy in the air and Scott's signs had a lot to do with that. It was really fun stomping on Amy's leg while Dema watched on the bus. Priceless.

Also want to extend a big thank you to the DC fans who've been so understanding that we've lost a treasured player (and friend) to injury. Thanks guys.

Last, but not least, thanks to the Burn who came out and concentrated on a win instead of lowering themselves. It's VERY hard for Chad to play the game and ignore the long-time resentment he has for Dema... great job Chad, and a much needed win.

    Chin up, it's a loooong season. :)

Yeah - you guys did a great job. Very audible - you could hear Sweeper loud and clear just by himself.

The Burn players handled themselves great and it was good to see the TV announcers handle the issue correctly and not get all homer-iffic defending their DC player like Hudson. Burn fans and players have every right to be mad as hell. And stay mad as hell. But winning is the best revenge.

I am sorry that I could not be there.

Some of the signs where of bad taste, just showed some of the inferno have no class at all. Instead of helping avoid any conflict during the warm ups, they contributed for the DC players to react the way they did, instead of insulting them they should appreciate a world class player like Stoichkov ( Most inferno memebers probably have no clue about his soccer career ) I wished we had someone like him at the Burn. Can anyone mention any world class player at the Burn? I hope everyone enjoyed one of the probable few wins this season. How on earth can Jeffries sleep at night ? We are lucky we don't have a second division in the MLS, there the last two go down... No matter how bad we do, we will be in the top division next year.

Hristo Stoichkov does not know the meaning of the word class. Sure he had and still has a lot of ability but please never use that word in the same sentence as him.

Many on these boards are well aware of Hristo's achievements, good and bad. If not check out this review from a Google search, http://www.angelfire.com/tx3/Stoichkov/beforeWSC94success.html

    Utter scum.

The Burn players have class, I do not. And I will never pretend to. So blow me.

And ask that freshman from American University, the one who's season - and possibly career - is over, how much class Hristo has.

Stoichkov is bad for MLS, Kovakenko is worse.

That commentator was weird. Whenever someone would score he kept saying "It's in the net! It's in the net! It's in the net!"

    Pipe down, Gertrude.

If you want "class" to be exhibited toward Hristo and the rest of the DC players by the fans, I suggest you attend games at RFK Stadium. However, in Dragon Stadium or at the Cotton Bowl, I want them to know that they're not welcome. That's the policy for every visiting team. And for a bunch of thugs and habitual leg-breakers like DC United, they should be made to feel doubly unwelcome.

Yeah. All I could think about was Bill Murray in Caddyshack saying, "It's in the hole!"

I think he's talking about the DC United webcast. I caught the last few minutes of it and it was a hoot.

The announcer came across as a bit of a soccer geek type, but he was certainly enthusiastic and fun to listen to too.

He also happened to be one of the biggest homers I've ever heard. It wasn't that he criticised the Burn -- in fact he sometimes complimented them. But when it came to DC, he acted like he was their #1 cheerleader.

You know what's no class? Breaking a players leg from a rash slide tackle from behind and not apologizing for it until weeks of bad publicity passed.

Kova-crap deserved plenty more than he got Saturday night.

Stoichkov may have been a skilled player in his day - but as far as class goes, he has none left. He is a reckless thug who shows opposing players and refs no respect. He should have retired 2 years ago.

oh god what a tool, if YOU knew anything about Hristo then you'd know that he has absolutely no class what-so-ever. Did he use to be a good player, hell yea, I'll never forget the Bulgaria '94 team in his prime days but now he's just a thug like kovalenko so he can go where Kovalenko should, hell.

That's Dave Johnson, the announcer for DC United's local telecasts.

The whole "It's in the net!" thing is his trademark goal call.
