And NDL makes it five. Shameful

Do we have to play the second half of overtime?

Who'da thunk that Nick DeLeon can place a shot, but Wayne Rooney can't?

Well it was fun for a minute or so. This loss rivals the 4-0 playoff loss to Chicago many years ago.

No defensive shape here. It is unfortunate, but not surprising.

We've got Titi at L back and Canouse at R back. It looks like the Rooney is forced to play d mid. There is no way that this would work, unless we could somehow control possession.

This game was lost in regulation, when we could not finish our chances. We then had to gamble with the subs and go for broke.

We tied it up, but sacrificed too much in the process.

Looks like Olsen is using the last sub now. He maybe should have used it before the extra time to restore balance to the back line.

If Jara comes in at that point, then Titi does not have to play in the back and maybe we have a chance.

    Moot now.
    Game over. Season over.

Rooney off for Jara. Put on an extra defender, Ben, to preserve the 5-1 loss.

Apparently all DC fans in the away section were booted after someone lit a flare right before the equalizer

He has to make up for his shitty performances with the USMNT...

....which has been playing suspiciously like United, lately....COINCIDENCE?

Wow. Can you end the season any worse? This just entends the horrible last game of the regular season when you can't score on the worst team in the league up to men.

Rooney is now out. What a crap ending to the season. This team needs some big changes with the coaching. United has underperformed for the talent on the team.

The game tactics and player selection have been head-scratching. Tell me for example why you play 2 defensive midfielders and 4 in the back when you are up 2 men against FC Cincy.

A 5-1 loss in the playoffs is as embarrassing as the final game tie with 9 man Cincy.

In happier news, Loudoun United up 5-1 against Red Bull’s 2.

Rooney missing those chances earlier in the second half led to an appropriately desperate sub pattern. Getting the equalizer was amazing, but it's now clear, for instance, why Boateng has seen so very few minutes.
