Goff reports at least 20K tickets have been sold for this match. Andy mentioned to me heard on the way into the stadium last night people talking about 22k attendance. So expect this to be a big crowd just like the USOC final.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A BIG TAXPAYER RALLY GOING ON IN DC ON THE 12TH.
Traffic and metro will be affected. My plane from Dallas had a herd of folks coming for this event--three days before. (I'd join 'em if it weren't for this match) Forewarned is forearmed.

Now to the really important stuff: The Machine will be returning to Lot 8. I only missed the last two matches (did pick up Dallas though), but it seems like an eternity. I'll be gettin' there early. I will bring watermelon if still available.

Cant' wait to see all you guys and gals again.

WE NEED TO BRING IT HARD AND PUSH THE BOYS TO EVEN THE TABLE WITH seattle AND PICK UP THREE MORE POINTS TOWARDS THE PLAYOFFS.

    VAMOS UNITED!!!

It sounds like we will be having a very large tailgate -- so, HK will probably need all the help y'all can give. Haven't talked to el jefe yet, but I imagine our usual carne fajitas will be principal dish.

If folks would like to contribute to the communal table, might I suggest sauteed peppers/onions, sliced jalapenos, guacamole for a base to the fajita (we would need as much as can be brought), beans, rice with cilantro/jasmine, etc. Also, if somebody could donate some durable serving spoons/tongs, it would be much appreciated by all.

Regarding guacamole, we could probably go through two gallons of the stuff.

    mas tarde.

Just had a major schedule shift for this weekend so luckily I'll be able to make it to the game. I have to give up a day of practice and warm up, but it'll be worth it! (no drinking though, unfortunately) Still have to be in NYC by 4:00am on Sunday for the race, (100 miles) but I'll make it! VAMOS UNITED!!!
    In summation, I'm excited!

Stupid question time! I've driven to a couple games but I still haven't figured how the hell to get out. How do you get onto 495 from that road that everyone exits on from lot 8? Those of you Maryland peeps, how the hell do you get home? :D Google maps and mapquest have all been unclear. Gracias

Which way are you going to get home? We live north of Baltimore, and when we leave lot 8, we take the far exit heading onto E. Capitol across the Anacostia, staying not in the RIGHT lane, but the next one over. From there, we take the exit to 295N (not from the exit only lane, but from the lane that can continue straight or branch to the right, then merges with 295N) and we take 295N to 495 to 95N. Voila! The sign saying the right lane, exit only, is for both 295N AND South LIES.

Otherwise, you can just stay on East Capitol Street, which becomes Central Ave, to 495. Depends on where you're goin'!

BBBulldog's way works, too, for folks going that way. For me it would suck ass. :)

-Edit, BBB's way looks best, if you're in Rockville. May not be shortest, but it's the easiest. :)

I'll be there! How's the pod looking Bootsy? At the Seattle game, it looked like we could use paper goods, plasticware, and non-alcoholic drinks. I can bring some of that.

I'm sure we need a lotta stuff. I'll go by tomorrow (well, today, now). I know we need charcoal (we'd have none, were it not for Kirk dropping some by on Wednesday; but what we have isn't enough).

Actually, when Mickey and I dropped off the two bags of Kingsford, there were a few other bags there already. You might want to double-check that, though.

(I also picked up some cleaning supplies, so we should be good at least for this tailgate).
