Why do you say that Eskandarian has denied his Iranian roots? He has lived his whole life in America and is probably proud of his Iranian heritage.

Glad to see such a good discussion on the attendance.

So is this going to sell out or not?

His dad played for Iran's national team.

"Eskandarian, whose father, ANDRANIK, played for the Cosmos in the North American Soccer League and internationally for Iran in the 1978 World Cup, has 21 goals this season."

That's refering to his college scoring, of course. :)

Eskandarian is not Iranian he is Armenian. His dad lived in Iran cause Russia (USSR) had taken over Armenia for seventy or so years . Armenia is the the only Christian country in the world surrounded by three Moslem countries.

    So there I was...

...trying to watch the presupposed, riveting DC v. LA game but was distracted by some paint peeling from the HDC walls.

So much for the exciting matchup. I went. I saw. I'm convinced that my initial assesment of both teams was right.

    Blasphemy!

Paint peeling in our soccer cathedral?

Sponsored by a Home improvement chain, no less?

    We should sue, or something.

But yeah, Glendale, here near LA, has the largest population of Armenians outside of Armenia. They should come out to the HDC to cheer for Esky. Did they?
