    I am not all that familiar with the DCU's inner workings but doesn't the above missive make Kevin Payne no more than a figurehead?

    Well, with the US Open Cup victory, DC United will still get their chance in the CCL again next year.

    Perhaps. I don't really think that the owners can be involved at as day-to-day a level as the letter would imply, but it's possible, at least in Chang's case. He, at least, is there for almost all the games.
