i can't chat either and am deciding whether i should tempt the wrathful IT department gods and try the webcast today...
Try clicking on the links next to the Real Player logo. I did that and Real updated my installed player which enabled the connection. Convey seems to be impressing the announcers.
Not much of note to report with 20' gone or so -- back and forth play. The Spurs announcers have singled out Convey as the best player on the pitch so far.
DC United: Rimando, Reyes, Moreno, Etcheverry, Agoos, Olsen, Convey, Williams, Pope, Barrett, Quaranta. Spurs: Keller, Marney, Doherty, Perry, Bunjevcevic, Poyet, Freund, Gascoigne, Ginola, Klinsmann, Sheringham.
The announcers think Quaranta is a South American and that Convey is a guest player. Not to mention their disparaging tone related to us calling the game 'soccer'.
The announcers apparently don't know that "soccer" is a term invented by the English, that one of their leading magazines is "Soccer World" and that Quaranta's ancestors call it "calcio" or something like that. Ah yes, the Brits. Pity them. The sun has set, after all.
Complements from the announcers about the DC side. Also, 'other than Etch--the rest are young bucks.', or something close to that. And this one: "I wouldn't mind it if Keller were English." These guys, though, have done no pre-game research at all about United. Oh well, it's a friendly.
Sounds like Keller has been forced into 3 saves and almost was the victim of an own goal. No Spurs effort on frame in 29 min
Thanks for the occasional updates. I still can't get the webcast, and I've got an updated Player, both on PC and Mac. Some days....
