D.C. United v New York City FC Sun • Apr 21 • 4:00 PM Audi Field Broadcast : ESPN Officials Referee: Allen Chapman Assistant Referees: Jeremy Hanson, Nick Uranga 4th Official: Marcos DeOliveira VAR: Daniel Radford
NYCFC showed a little life last week. Although I'm confident Torrent can figure out how to extinguish that spark. This is a scary game because NYCFC is winless and you know they will break out sometime -- just hope it's not Sunday. This is another 3 games in a week set-up for DCU, so let's see how Olsen rotates the squad. At least the trips are short -- Columbus on Wednesday and Minnesota next weekend -- no altitude to deal with. Maybe Jara will be ready, I certainly hope so. Maybe Ward gets a run out at LB. That backline is still patchwork.
Update -- Goff says Ward going to LU, Jara will be back. Mora out longer than expected. Pines and Yow staying up.
Will ultraconservative Olsen save some of his usual starters for Columbus? After all, it's a road game and Columbus is just behind us in the division. If so, I would hope to see a reprise of Durkin and Pines - and maybe Stieber - Sunday against the Bronx Bloopers.
Doubtful. Current forecast (as of 1500 Saturday) says only a 20% chance of rain (late afternoon and evening), with temps in the mid-60s.
Don't care for the camera angle today... so high up. Wonder if it's because of the sun problems nobody thought about when designing Audi Field.
Segura and Jara have been a black hole in the right. Acosta Has not gotten himself into the match. Haven’t seen a lot of grit outside Arriola and Durkin.
They look uninspired and like they don't believe in themselves. Failure of leadership. Move Durkin to back line and bring in Stieber, take out Segura. Or something. Acosta has got to get his head in the game.
Ben is such a shit manager. One of the problems is obvious. Play a higher backline, and condense the space between the backline and central midfield.
