I'd rather have Penso than Unkel. I'd prefer Unkel's wife. Was it Unkel who did Seattle-Dallas last week or some other game that did not go well last week? VAR is the Dracula hair guy, right?
Ruidiaz/Ziegler confrontation. Unkel, AR and VAR all conspired to get it wrong. DisCo let Ruidiaz play this week based on Josef Martinez precedent that headbutts don’t count. Thx, Jay!
We should win - We should score several goals - But our defense is still shaky I won't feel OK until we get a third goal
So, is it going to be Moreno and Canouse as the central midfielders again? I think the coaching decision to play Moreno-Canouse last game was a good one. Moreno-Canouse is a more solid defensive corp than Canouse (Durkin)- Arriola. As a result, I feel that the Moreno-Canouse pairing offers more cover for the back line. Last game, I believe it resulted in less space for Portland to operate in central areas in front of the back four. Since Canouse ventures forward less frequently than Arriola, it often looked more like a 4-2-3-1, rather than a 4-1-4-1. Moreno-Canouse is a bit more conservative, but we were still able to generate enough scoring chances. That being said, I do feel that Arriola's attacking has been more effective through the center of the field when compared to when he plays out wide. It's a tough decision. Stieber should be well rested and should be fresh enough to start on the wing. So, it will be interesting to see what Olsen chooses tonight.
Ben doesn't change anything. Same lineup again. This is where Ben needs to earn his paycheck. I don't have an opinion one way or another because I'm not at practice and have no idea how these guys are doing fitness wise. I hope the lack of rotation this week doesn't backfire on us. We have a lot of attacking depth, but Ben doesn't seem interested in rotating the likes of Mattocks and Stieber in a crowded week. Of course there is something to be said for not tweaking a winning lineup. Hope Ben chose wisely.
Really nice assist from Arriola and goal from Acosta. Been on the front foot for a good bit - I like it.
it's clear (to me) NER is trying to goad Acosta into a card. It's backfired in the best possible way.
Solid first half, keep applying pressure and we get another one easily. Fisher with a solid half similar to the last couple games.
NE should have 2 sent off by now. Straight arm to Acosga and Avudelo with two bad challenges. Unlel sucks.
If Asad had kept running, he could have scored Rooney's missed, angled shot. That's what frustrates me with Asad.
Just curious. What are those splotches all over the field? Looks like morning dew on the grass. Sprinkler heads? Old logos washed off?
Yeah, we washed off the "40" and "30" yard markers, 'cause we play in an American Football stadium. O wait, i'm thinking of another team.
