It wasn't pretty at times. Petrescu is a donkey of a ref, but holy shit Batman, 3 on the trot. I have no words for what I'm watching.
It's an American thing. As a Formula 1 fan, I prefer cars that turn right and left during the race, but to each his own.
I am speechless too. This team seems a far cousin of the ectoplasm we used to watch just a couple of weeks ago.
I can already tell how this is going to go during the off season. DCU: "So, you want to be the coach for next season?" Ashton: "Sure, I'd love it, bit I will need an assistant coach" DCU: "Don't worry, we'll give you one of the interns" Ashton: "OK, but how do you think the fan base will react? They' ll probably expect a bigger name and more expert coach than me" DCU: "Since when do we care about the fan base?"
So will the people who continued to minimize Ben's impact on how bad this team was FINALLY admit that he should have been ousted long ago?
If Ashton had kept this pace over a longer period he'd have to at least been considered for coach of the year. Has an interim coach ever gotten coach of the year?
Asad continues his improved play; Flores looked good, and Fisher was a force at both ends of the pitch. Brillant was fine, but we won't have him Sunday. I hope Mora can play.
I can't believe I'm typing this, but a Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler late Dallas goal means that DC's *playoff race competition* had a universally shitty night.
Montreal 23 points: vs Orlando / @ DCU Miami 21 points: @ Toronto / vs Cincinnati Chicago 21 points: @ Nashville / @ Minnesota / vs NYCFC DC United 21 points: @ New England / vs Montreal Atlanta 19 points: vs Cincinnati / @ Columbus
They don't always complete the pass, but they keep making the passes. They are trusting each other and actually moving their ass to get around the ball. The one/two, give and go stuff I see other teams do routinely and have coveted is here at last. Pass and move, not pass and watch. I thought they were gonna get screwed by the ref and lose full points, I'm more confused than happy.
Good grief, two wins and we are in if Miami drops any points (since we play Montreal). That's just wrong...
Not entirely correct. Chicago is the bigger issue since they have a game in hand, and United doesn't hold the tiebreaker with them right now either.
