Coming on in in about 4 minutes. Damn announcer keeps referring to MSL. I'll try and put some updates every once in a while. Starting lineups: DC: Rimando; Reyes, Pope, Agoos, Barrett; Olsen, Etcheverry, ---, Convey; Quaranta, Moreno Tottenham: Keller; ---, ---, ---, ---; Poyet, Gascoigne, ---, ---; Sheringham, Klinsman Sorry, it went to fast for me to follow.
This doesn't have to do with the game. But it's just something I observed. Notice the difference in how the coaches carry themselves. On one side you have the Spurs coach, in his suit and proper demeanor. On the other you have Ray Hudson, in his warmup gear and spouting off about something. I think Ray is a riot. But just imagine what the fans watching must think of MLS coaches based on this. Too bad the Quakes couldn't be there. Franky would represent us well.
Reyes and Olsen have combined well on the right. One dangerous cross. Tottenham seems to penetrate, but really doesn't put anything together. More individual effort rather than team play. Tottenham had a very dangerous cross. DC is putting numbers on the ball.
Goose seems to be very well known to this announcer. The last coach to wear a suit at Spartan was Lothar.
I love this announcer, the remark about Gascoigne being surprised when the ball hit him in the head was a good chuckle.
DC has dominated possessio for the last few minutes, shutting down anything Tottenham starts to put together. Etcheverry has taken two long range shots, one on frame.
Convey has impressed me with his combination play, running off the ball. Attacks by Tottenham have seemed to come from DCs right flank recently.
Moreno and Quaranta get themselves into trouble by holding the ball and not playing it off quickly. DC has done better penetrating when moving the ball quickly and running off it.
Two good opportunities by DC in the last 4 minutes. Keller is out for the Canadian GK Herschfeld (sp?). Apparently he played in the Canada/Scotland game.
Nothing given in numbers yet. People outside were waiting to get in. Atmosphere is terrific. The ovation given to Gascoigne as he left the pitch was terrific.
DC had a great combination play started by Convey, pentetrated through the box, Quaranta got off a decent shot that was deflected out of bounds for a DC corner.
