For me, these last two games at HDC were similar in the way we played. In both matches, we started well and controlled the tempo of the game. We did not score against LA in the SuperLiga contest but had some very good chances that we did not convert. Last night, Emilio makes good on those opportunities. In both games though, there was a turning point that shifted all momentum to the opponent. And in both cases, due to a brain fart by Perkins. Now I do not put all blame on him but unfortunately, his gaffs allowed the other side to get alive. Now the problem in both HDC games was our inability to turn the tide, take the air out of the ball and slow it down. Both LA and Chivas got a lot of energy and started a horse race, which is not our style at all. Not only does it make us tired but it takes our skillful players out of the game, mostly Moreno and Gomez. And on the big pitch of HDC, a run-n-gun goes to the advantage of a less skillful team. We do not have the speed or size to play that way. To make matters worse, Stott would not give us calls, which leads to frustration and makes us play with less calm. So while I do not say he cost us the match, his usuall terrible officiating did not help matters.

As some of you wrote, going into the match, we would have been happy with a draw. But going ahead by two goals and thinking we would be victorious, then giving up the lead, having ESPN lose its feed, having somone try to be funny during the blackout by stating that newly entered substitute Mediate scored (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), well, that just put a damper on the whole night.

Maybe RSL and LA both count as 1/2 a team?

Yes, they were. And, according to the commentators on the radio, SJ was an absolute asshole to Edozien while he was with the Revolution. Even more disgusting, SJ reportedly spat at Edozen after the fracas took place.

Meh, it's close. Chivas USA still has to earn 7 points to pass DC.
