I missed the announcement during the MLS Cup broadcast, but apparently DC United is opening the 2005 season at HDC against CD Chivas USA on April 2. Mark your calendars ...

I'm quite sure I'll try to organize a group ticket purchase for this match. Hopefully we'll get the usual LA contingent and more than a few travelling supporters. Look for an announcement about that in ... oh, I don't know. When do they start selling tickets?

Where is the "Official" in the tittle?

And why is it taking so long for Owen to start a banter thread :D

Methinks that Knave's "hat" got dislodged during the celebrations on Sunday, he's been far to nice the last few days ;)

And where's the "No Flames. No Trolls." note? Come on Knave, this is unacceptable.

someone in another thread made an excellent point. Saturday, April 2, is the same day as the 2 FINAL FOUR games of the NCAA tournament. It would seem to be a better idea for the league to have this opening game on Sunday the 3rd, but what do I know. I guess it was the same situation this year too, wasn't it?

    DC United vs. Chicas USA?

I think we need to figure out a way to smuggle a goat into the stadium and then behead it.

The Final Four matches will be in the early evening..

6 pm is usually when the first game is, followed a little later with the other game..

    We shouldn't have any run-over..

April 3 won't work. I get married that day, so I'll need the evening free. ;)

I've already spoken with Zack and Garber about this. That's why we open on the road.

That's right. For some reason I kept thinking that the first game started at 3:45. My bad.

    Hmmmmm

I believe we may have stumbled onto a theme for the tailgate when Chivas comes East to play DC. It might have to be a lamb instead of a goat (no one eats goats), but no one will know the difference (unless we have Kiwis or Scotsmen in the supporters groups) :D

Damn! I was forgetting about that.

Someone needs to talk the FO into OTC hats as the gimme for the first Chivas match :D

We know Rogen lurked(s) here, so he should get it (though most of the fans wouldn't) ;)

The first thing my wife and I did when we set out wedding date was check the calender to make sure it did not conflict with any important sporting event like the Final Four.
