I wonder if DC United is willing or have already invited a gogo band to experience and maybe perform at one of the games? maybe to increase awareness to the black population especially the younger in DC?

Im really not trying to be stupid here, i would think that something like this would had been I dont know explored?? Dont get me wrong Like some soccer games in europe GoGO gigs have there darkside, but on a high note GoGo is the pride of DC. it would be nice if something like that could happen.

    That would be sweet!

I'm partial to the old school (Junkyard, RE, Northeast Groovers, chuck brown), but a fresher artist would probably be better to bring in the young crowd.

Somehow, I don't see it happening.
    Surprise me, DCU!!

United used to have live music at almost every game, I hooked a few friends' bands up back in the day. We'd have even some decent local bands before games and even a Nat'l Act after a game once.
But I don't think they even book music any more. Sure there is a band or two in Lot 8, but not sure how involved the team actually is in those.

Anyway, I'm all for entertainment, but I prefer go-go dancers to gogo music ;)

I dream of DCU playing to go-go the way Brazil plays to samba.

How cool would it be if La Norte could get "It don't mean a thing if it don't got that go-go swing" rolling on the Bomba.

    Haha hell yes! :)

But it would be cool to see a go-go band playing at one of our games.

check the scenario.... ask Mayor Barry who his favorite, actually hell say anything Chuck Brown, whick makes sense, you have to have chuck Brown with go go, its like syrup with pancakes like milk and cereal. Maybe have his band along with a respected band play at pregame or have some cross promotion(decent security advised) with Soccer and DCU. DCU can give away Tshirts balls and Nuts and the kitchen sink lool. For real it should be good. and better yet since the bravas and the Nortes like to sing they can add some classic gogo songs to thyre juke vocal juke boxes.. "Over night scenario" Loose Booty, etc.....

If Chuck Brown performed at a DC United game and a Virginia Tech football game, I'd die the world's happiest man.

Chuck Brown will perform April 4 during halftime of DC Armor's home opener at the Armory, the same night that DCU hosts the Dynamo. So close and yet so far.

Like when the Crewzers get up on the north-end stage behind the big chain-link fence at the Crew stadium and look like they are in a giant gogo cage? :D

So close, yet so far is how I felt after he performed in Roanoke the weekend of a Tech football game this past season.

Just play a little GOGO for Emilio and the next video behind the badge posts up will be him singing Scenario.

This would be great. Why not book good acts to perform in Lot 8?

We need to get the guy with the two wooden dowels who plays go-go rhythms on buckets, plastic trash cans, and OTCs (I kid you not) near Verizon Center and at Dupont Circle on certain weekends.

I wish I hadn't turned into one of the Black people in the barber shop when I hit play.
