Jacob Greene to sign homegrown contract with D.C. United https://t.co/zibHciQTu8 #dcu #mls #usl #terps— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) November 24, 2020
Michael Deshields, wake forest captain, former Baltimore Celtic national Champ, Md All State etc.... Is signing with NE Revs II out of college. He was never affiliated with DCU as far as I know, but another local talent that we cant claim. Add to the list of: Eryk Williamson J. Ebobisse Chase Gasper St Clair (UMD GK) Etc So much talent in this area that DC doesnt seem to get. Losing out to talent vs clubs like Armor, Bethesda, Celtic, etc....
The club didn't value youth development until LUFC was announced and Ryan? Martin came in. The academy departing the pay to play model is the first step of many in repairing their relationship with the community.
I posted this in another thread, but recently signed Jacob Greene is listed in Google as being 5'10" and 386 pounds!
You know that was cool at first but some of our players have been looking famished. Gressel's death face is especially concerning. Atheltism is supposed to top out at around 12 to 15% and some of our players look to be in that 9-10% zone.
Patrick Ouckama, formerly the #NERevs' U-17 coach & director of academy coaching, has been brought on board as #DCU's new academy director. (@SoccerInsider reported talks last week.) https://t.co/v017EeDXse— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) August 9, 2021
