Well, I just got my email from the team, and it's only got home games on it.
The team website just says -2006 Schedule coming soon.

my ticket agent said earlier in the week that there was one team's stadium that was holding all the scheduling up, so maybe they decided to publish only the home schedule at this point...

According to Diceson's interview with Novak, the goal this year is to get off to a quick start and do much better winning home games. With this schedule, the team has the opportunity to do both. Now we wait and see.

Ya, it is, hopefully there will be some Open Cup games at home during this time span.

Man this stinks. Only 3 home games during summer when my kids are out of school and I'm out of town on business on June 21 and 24. Sure picked a good year to get a full season package. Very strange, the schedule is doughnut --front and back loaded with home games with nothing in the middle. Isn't sharing space grand?

As I suspected, heavy early and late with home matches.

3 straight home matches to begin the season. That has to be a first both league wide and with United.

It looks like 4 matches will be on ESPN/ABC including their first two home matches of the season.

It sucks to have such a light summer home schedule, but sharing a stadium with the Gnats will do that.

I see only 1 summer afternoon game (4:00) on Aug 19th. That's good, because those games are hot sitting in the sun. Let the gnats have them in the summer. The October games are always the best, but let's hope they figure out how not to kill the turf this year.

Man, I wish the schedules came out earlier. I am looking at this thing, and I can already see five games I will miss. Anybody want to buy my tickets? :)

"We're going to operate on a reduced schedule during the World Cup. Think of it as 'MLS Lite'."

    Uh, huh.

    Nope.

I'm sure other teams have done it, but Dallas did it in 2000.

Well, we have to remember that the AS game is at the end of July, so that's one weekend where we cannot get a game. Then, in that June 24 thru July 15 span, who knows ............. maybe there is a 2 week break for the end of the WC. The WC final IS on July 9. Having a couple of weeks break there would ensure that the players who are returning from being knocked out in the WC don't miss time as they can come back, heal up for a week or 2, and then play. Just a thought about what is possible. We'll see.

I does suck, but it's not inevitable that we'll always have a front-loaded home schedule because of them.

MLB's regular season starts April 3. It just happens that the Nationals start the season with 13 of their first 16 on the road this season. Kind of an anomaly.

    I agree.

I am very happy that there are few August games because 1) extremely humid weather, 2) a lot of people are on vacation and games in August do not draw as many fans.

I actually love the early and late games, cooler weather is perfect for soccer and more importantly it is perfect weather for the thirsty fans! :D

You are my man -- I agree completely. Also, I can understand & appreciate & forgive the summer hole in the schedule what with the World Cup and the Nats messing stuff up. Anywho, this is all the more reason for United's Brain Trust to move forward expeditiously on the Anacostia Stadium project.

Well, I've figured out my "Plan A" half-season tickets schedule from the FO's e-mail, have plugged the entire home schedule (I'll pick up almost of all the other home games with single shot buys through the SE) into my Microsoft Outlook, double-checked it, and downloaded it into my handheld. I'm ready to go.

Now, it's back to editing these d*** answers to interrogatories . . .

I was hoping to catch an exciting one, however...

The three games I will be in the area for: Kansas, Columbus, Colorado.

Mind you, I'll still be there cheering my heart out. But it's not quite the same as a Metroscum or LA game. I kinda wish I could welcome in Houston as well...

Maybe they will squeeze in a friendly with an English club in July.

If they do it better be at night. I don't think I can handle another game like last years Chivas game.

Yeah, but neither could Chivas. Think how bad a Brit team would be.

Getting off to a fast start? Protecting home turf? I wonder if any other team is entering the season with the same strategy. :D :D
