While I have no doubt that this has been discussed previously, has anybody put this down for all to see since DCU's recent BIG signings?

    Quarantadarian/Serna

    Etch/Preki Stewart/Chacon

    Convey/Henderson Dema/Rooney Olsen/Marshall
    Nelsen/Bishop

    Petke/Pablo Llamosa/Ivanov Reyes/?

    Rimando/Rimando

If Hudson got such production out of 3-4-3 down there, why not here?

Yes it's been discussed, but why not discuss it again! :)

Hudson is at his best in a 352 with a lot of AM/F players. Guys that can easily shift between midfield and forward well. Each player can dribble and pass, and is asked to defend as well. The guys that Hudson got: Stewart, Dema, Ivanov, Eskandarian to add with Convey, Olsen, Etch, Reyes and Nelsen can all play multiple positions. Plus, they can all score.

Ray intends to unbalence opposing defenses with a 5 man midfield pushing through whenever there's a gap. Also, he'll throw a defender (usually Reyes, but could be Ivanov) forward occasionally as well. This should enable the team to take advantage of slow or inexperienced back lines, and eek out more than average chances against veteran back lines.

Yeah, this is the Miami fusion, but I don't really see the 1-to-1 resemblence that you do. Stewart isn't Chacon, but he is a fast savvy midfielder who pushes forward a lot. While a UVa assistant likened Eskandarian to Serna, I don't think they're similar players. But I agree with you that the same concepts are there, and yes, Ray is rebuilding the Fusion in Black Shirts.
