Ray Hudson has been fined $500 for responding "inappropriately" to fans following United's loss to Dallas on May 31st.

Way to go, Burn fans! Let's see if we can hit Dema in the wallet when United return in July!

They should give you guys the $500 and let you split it amongst yourselves.

    According to sweeper 33:

"After the game we took the signs, drums and crutches to the DC bus and gave them a nice send-off. Hudson gave us a subtle international gesture and I think Petke was mad that no one gave a damn about him all game!"

Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember an Inferno member telling me that right after the game, as DC United walked off the field and behind the GA bleachers, Ray responded to our jeers by lifting his shorts and exposing one of his cheeks. Eeeeew!

Whichever incident it was one thing is for sure: THIS IS SWEET!!!

Think about it: Ray Hudson is being fined by his OWN FRONT OFFICE, not MLS. Someone on the team or staff had to rat on him after the Burn/United game. Ray had to answer questions, staff members had to discuss his behavior, someone had to come up with a fine amount, someone had to write the press release and Ray Hudson has to deal with Dallas Burn fans once again even though the game was weeks ago!!!

Don't F*** with Dallas Burn Fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our team may be shite right now but we fans will find a way to jack you up!

I think the $500 should go to the Ronnie O'Brien medical fund, or a Guinness drinking fund - whichever Ronnie prefers while he rehabs.

And Ray, it ain't over. When the Animal Handler returns in July we're going for $1,000! Ray, you should have apologized when you had the chance.

Anyone know why we even heard about this? Makes me think they wanted the publicity. He's so colorful!

Exactly what the league needs, some personality and conflict.

Petke doesn't need to feed the fans anymore, not on DCU.

Probably just preemptive to stop MLS from doing something -- it's always better to be fined by your own than the league. As the press release said, "The MLS Disciplinary Committee also reviewed the incident, but given United's sanctions against Ray Hudson, has determined that further penalty is unnecessary."

Sorta like those self-imposed sanctions for minor NCAA violations that colleges do. You hope your own small fine/sanction stops the league from hitting you with a bigger one. It often works, too.

Good answer. Guess I could have read the story - but I knew it wouldn't say what he actually did. And really it's that tabloid crap I'm looking for, like "Burn Fannies Bear Brunt of Bare Brit Butt" or something.

I think I speak for Burn fans everywhere, nay, I think I speak for carbon based life forms across the universe, when I say:

The $ 500 should go to The Inferno Beer Fund to help drown out the pain and suffering that followed after Hudson "cheeked" them.

Looks like Ray is taking further steps to toughen up United.

Diego Serna's on trial with DC and Hudson makes it sounds like there's a pretty good chance he'll be joining them:

that's exactly what they need, another crying baby, diving, soccer-wasbeen player. Should go well with Shitekov, Break-a-legnko, and company.

I forgot to mention Marco "the refs are always out to get me" Etcheverry and Ray "I moon Dallas fans" Hudson.

    What a bunch.
