Al Jezeera (take their reports however you feel) Is reporting fighting has been heard around Umm Qassr..
Al Jazeera has also reportedly been showing graphic images of dead civilians that it claims were killed by coalition forces. No one has been able to confirm the footage.
The arab street LOVES to forget how awful Ba'athist Anti Aircraft is.I wouldnt doubt the pictures are real, but I would guess they were killed by by Ba'athist fire not by coalition fire. Heck, look at the footage of the heavy assaults from a few nights ago.. the reporter for ABC even commented how frightful he was of the Ba'athist AA fire.. you can even see quit a few close calls from obvious AA fire .
According to the MSNBC report, the pictures being shown by Al Jazeera aren't in Baghdad. They're being taken in souther Iraq supposedly. I for one am skeptical... for now.
There's lots of video and photos of dead civilians. It's just that the U.S. media won't show it. It's war. Dead civilians are a given. Just be thankful our boms have become as accurate as they are.
According to Arabia TV (United Arab Emirates) 20 U.S. Special Forces commandos were captured as they tried to enter Baghdad.
Most of Basra is considered to be under coalition control, there's still some pockets of resistance in Umm Qasar

A news report stated that Turkey originally demanded 90 Billion dollars from the United States for air and staging rights.
Excellent coverage! I am watching PBS (no cable)and their using CNN coverage , you have witnessed excellent training of western troops. It looks as if they have neutralized at least one Ba'athist position.
Idiotic FNC female anchor, after watching live footage of firefight outside Umm Qasr with two retired generals/commentators: 'Wow, this must be like watching a football game with two professional football players.' I kid you not.
