What should be top priority for the club this summer?

  1. Sign Camavinga

    33.3%
  2. Sell Bale/James (and other deadweight)

    40.9%
  3. Address backup RB

    1.5%
  4. Save the funds for next summer, go after Mbappe

    24.2%

I don't believe this at all. We've been burnt too many times by Spanish sources who claim we are getting a deal... then later we find out we've been shafted.

Yeah Bale's wages are like 500k+ a week. No way they cover all of it. I'll gladly take them covering half and that is still a lot for them.

It's going to be 50/50 in the end. I don't know how the tax thing will work in Spain for a player that plays in England, but overall we will most likely save 10/20 million a year.

He really beat the club... No transfer fee, no loan fee. Not even covering his full wages most likely.

Oh well, you win some, you lose some. Paying for last summer's mistake but at least he'll be gone.

    Mariano and Mayoral to go.

How hilarious would it be if he refuses to give up a cent but then comes out and says we ruined his exit for not wanting to pay the salary of someone not playing for us.

I wonder how Bale's injuries list will look this season.

Quite a few people saying Tottenham taking on full wages. This could be a huge win.

If true, I expect to see a huge visit Wales campaign and Titleist to become the kit sponsor

Of course. The clubs are held hostage by players.

It was Florentino who held Bale hostage last summer. Had he let him go we wouldn't be wishing and hoping Tottenham don't leave us with a +€15M bill for a player who won't play for us (who our manager wouldn't even play anyways).

AS is saying he’s already had the medical and passed it (phew) with Spurs. Teams are close on the loan agreement.

I wrote this not so long ago. 50/50 will still make him Tottenham's third highest paid player. And if we pay half of his salary, he still earns more than Benzema. That is how bad of a mistake Perez made last season?

But I am not bad at him. Perez can do no wrong in my opinion. :)

    Perez have no leverage.
He has a player that don't want to stay but not enough that he (the player) will reduce his salary and don't mind sitting in the bench all season.
On the other hand, Perez has a coach who don't want that player and don't have in his plans since early 2020.
I think 50/50 wages will be a very good outcome, I fear we will end up paying 70%.

50/50 split should be fine. As long as we remive this meme from our team.

Bale certainly didn't sound like a player that would like to remain on the bench all summer.

Dele Alli is not part of the Gareth Bale deal with Real Madrid. He has been offered to Real on loan as to many other clubs but is not included in Bale negotiations. Different deal and Real Madrid are not focused on Alli in this moment.

It's nonsense to even consider it a battle in the first place.

For whatever reason the club's gambles with his and James didn't work out or make much sense, but I just find it odd that we're angry about not generating value from a player with massive injury problems at his 9th contract year or so while others can't move on from players in their mid 20s that cost over 100 mil. Euro two summers ago.

For me it's not about generating value from the sale. We had little to no leverage in this deal, so it's remarkable that we were able to move him on as it is.

As you know, I've always been a fan of the player. The issue is not procuring funds from Tottenham, but instead of him contributing after the last CL win, he's become even more of a drain. We've essentially gotten nothing out of him the last two years and he was content to collect his paycheck while we were saddled with an albatross.
